They'd be perfect if only the wicks were waxed

Nice candles with one area for improvement: the cotton wick is unwaxed. As a consequence, the first time I tried to light one of these candles, the cotton momentarily caught fire, extinguished, and was left smoldered. Fearing that all the exposed wick would smolder away, I quickly lit another match, held the candle upside-down over it, reigniting the wick and melting some of the wax to “prime” the wick. Alas, this left sooty marks on the top of the candle which now will never go away. All of this could have been avoid had the wick been waxed.Alas, I lack the facilities to do a chemical analysis to confirm what they are made of, but they have do the slight stickiness that one expects from a genuine beeswax candle.Note: as per the description they are scent free. I actually like the (natural) slightly sweet smell of raw beeswax, and so I wish they hadn’t used de-scented wax. But I get some folks prefer an odorless candle.[Disclosure: I received this product for “free”—in quotes because the IRS requires I pay federal income tax on the retail value. This review is honest and uncensored by the seller.]

Honeycomb Surface is a nice touch

I got these beeswax candles for display and emergencies only. They look really nice in my candle holders, but I have yet to burn them. The honeycomb surface adds a really nice touch. They are supposed to have very little smoke which is another reason I ordered them. I don't' like having the soot from candles appear in different parts of my house or settling on the ceiling. I imagine that is why they are so expensive. Even with the 20% off coupon 35 $ is a lot to pay for 6 small candles
