A Great Candle with a Wonderfully Powerful and Pleasant Floral Aroma
I’m reviewing the HomeLights 18 ounce soy wax Champagne Cassis & Honey (Citrus Fruity) four wick container candle. Homelight jar candles do not have a lid but they have a thick cardboard wax cover to protect the candle from dust until you decide to use it. In addition, the candle has an attractive black cloth strap tied around the candle with an attractive bow tied at the top of the candle.HomeLights lists the candle's dimensions as 3.07"W x 4.8"H. I measured the jar and its dimensions are actually 4.84375”W (top) x 4.3125”W (bottom) x 3.125”H. Homelights lists the product weight as 1.12 pounds (17.92 ounces). The candle actually weighs 1.51 pounds (24.166 ounces). The candle wicks are cotton flat wicks. The wicks are covered by thick layers of wax which gives the wicks rigidity and makes them easier to light. The candle has a slight ridge of thicker glass around the top making it impossible to measure the true thickness of the glass with calipers. The candle is manufactured in Vietnam.Homelights provides a complex list of fragrances that were combined to create the unique scent of this candle. These fragrances are listed by their note (top, middle, or base):Top Notes: Citrus, CocktailMiddle Notes: Fruity, Cassis Neo Jungle Essence (™)Base Notes: MuskGiven that some of these notes are either vaguely defined (fruity) or some sort of proprietary trademark which presumably also is a trade secret formulation (Cassis Neo Jungle Essence whatever that is supposed to be), this listing of notes is even more confusing and amorphous than usual. Subjectively the candle has a sweet, floral scent. That description is also vague but much more straightforward and understandable than the above jumble of ill-defined notes.According to HomeLights this candle contains 18 ounces of soy wax which has a 50+ hour burn time. In previous tests a single wick HomeLights candle with 6.857 ounces of wax burned for 41 hours and 7 minutes (2467 minutes). The current candle being reviewed has 2.6 times more wax but the burn rate should be 4 times higher due to having 4 wicks instead of 1. So, my preliminary estimate is (2,467 * 2.6) / 4 = 1,604 minutes (26 hours and 45 minutes). Wow, the vendor’s estimate and my estimate are wildly different.I conducted a burn test. The candle burned cleanly and evenly. The fragrance was quite wonderful and had a powerful floral scent. You could smell the candle’s strong fragrance at the top of the stairs above the room where it was burning. Quite an impressive scent throw. I was the only one who found the fragrance to be pleasant and calming. Guests praised the candle’s pleasing scent. I burned the candle to completion. It lasted for 37 hours and 35 minutes which roughly splits the difference between the vendor’s high estimate and my low estimate. I have to admit that I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised at how long this candle lasted given how quickly multiple wicks consume candle wax.After the burn test was completed, I completely cleaned out the candle’s jar and weighed the empty jar which weighed 5.919 ounces which is surprisingly light. By subtracting the empty jar weight from the initial jar weight before the burn, I’m able to determine that 18.247 ounces of wax was contained in the candle jar confirming the vendor’s advertised wax weight.The candle’s impressive scent throw combined with its clearly wonderful though somewhat mysterious floral scent are its most impressive features. Its clean burn and lack of tunneling are other important positive traits. Finally, one could see the 37.5+ hour burn life as a shortcoming, but I’m frankly impressed that the candle lasted this long given its 4 wicks.

Amazing Smelling Candle!!!
This candle smells absolutely amazing and I burn it every time I want to have a nice aromatic scent throughout my home. It burns for a very long time and it came packaged nicely. It’s in a league of its own and I would buy it again in a different scent. It sits in my living room on the shelf where I usually put all of my scented candles. I highly recommend it to my friends and family.
