Not blackout but nice filtering, good fit, convenient tiebacks

I wanted to replace some old blackout curtains that got ruined in the wash. These are not as blackout as the older pair, so I'll call them moderate-to-heavy light-filtering.I've included some pictures so you can see. Note that I installed these as an underlayer beneath a decorative pair of linen curtains. One is the curtain as a single layer where I've drawn away the linen curtain, and one is the pair of curtains underneath my decorative pair of curtains. You can see that with both curtains down, the light is well contained. When I draw them back on the side with the air conditioner, you can see how much more light my decorative linen curtains let in as compared to these. In the picture with the single layer of these, you can see they still let in light but not as much as the linen. Note, too, that light can still escape around the tops and edges since they're curtains and not flush-fitting like blinds would be For my purposes, and given that I have two layers to work with, I'm content. If you need true blackout, you'll need to look elsewhere. Pros: * Pretty design. I was more impressed than I expected with the elegance of the design. * Color is attractive. The ombré is subtle. * Fit is good. I got the smallest size so they could fit beneath my linen curtains and not show, and that worked out great. Just measure your windows so you know what you're working with. * Large metal grommets made threading easy. * Attached tie-backs are a huge plus for containing the fabric when the curtains are open and for creating eye-catching styles.Cons:* Not true blackout. * Fabric is very slippery and synthetic. This could clash with more traditional decor.
