Great shelf design
These shelves are fantastic! Bought for my son’s room to hold all his treasures. He hung them with ease. All the hanging hardware was included. For assistance I showed him how to use our stud finder and his dad gave him tips for using his drill. They seem sturdy and able to hold weight. Considering he still has Lego models to build I might buy another set for his other wall. The design and wood color also match his new desk so his space now looks more natural and modern. Great price for the value.

I wanted some shelves for books but didn’t want a floor-standing bookshelf. I looked at lots of wall-mounted shelves. I was wary of the floating type that have an invisible support that fits into a recess in the shelf, because I was afraid the shelf would sag over time. I settled on these shelves because they have clean lines and attractive brackets that can mount either underneath the shelves in any location you select (to screw into studs), or on top at the ends of the shelves. I opted for the latter method because it looks better IMO and also the diagonal gussets of the brackets serve double duty as bookends. The shelves themselves seem pretty stiff, but the set comes with additional support brackets for the midpoints of the shelves to help prevent bowing over time. The shelves are pre-drilled with pilot holes for all brackets, and the holes are accurately positioned. Installation was pretty simple. In the end, I decided it was best to attach the brackets to a shelf first, then place it against the wall (a helper is useful for this step, although I did it alone without much trouble) with a bubble level on top to make sure it’s level, and mark the bracket hole locations with a pencil. It’s best to have at least one of the big brackets screwed into a wall stud; ideally both would be, but if you use the option of putting the brackets on top at the ends of the shelves, it generally won’t be possible for both to screw into studs, assuming you have standard 16” on center stud spacing. No matter, the supplied drywall anchors seem to provide plenty of strength for the end that’s not aligned with a stud. Overall, I think these shelves are a bargain at the price. Not high end, but attractive and functional.
