Cool idea but not that well made. Not a very good value for the cost.
I got the Kecaopdt Heart Wooden Prayer Bowl and Cards because I love the idea of friends and family adding their prayers to a bowl so we can pray for one another. When I saw this pretty wooden bowl in the listing, I thought it would look great set out in our family room, and the concept of a prayer bowl reminded me of the passage in Revelation where the prayers of the saints are gathered in a bowl, which felt like a powerful symbol.The bowl looks pretty at first glance, but the joins are very unattractive and the wood feels more like bamboo than the solid rubber wood the description claims. The finish is not glossy as advertised; it has a semi gloss look that makes the grain a bit too shiny for my taste. There's a strong, unpleasant varnish odor that is being amplified by yet another chemical odor coming from the prayer cards. The etching of the word prayer bowl and the crosses is not very sharp and looks more like cross-hatching. The crosses look more like swords than the actual cross symbols I expected. The rainbow ribbon that comes with it feels unnecessary and doesn't add anything to the overall look. The prayer cards are printed on coated cardstock, so I had to use a ballpoint pen or a permanent marker to write on them (in other words, pencil doesn't work well). The cards themselves are fine, but they could have had crosses on them or Bible verses on the reverse side to make them feel more complete. The cross that came with the set was dented on one corner, which is a bit disappointing. The gift box looks like it had already been opened because the seal was broken, and the ribbon isn't attached to the box, so you have to add that before gifting. The bowl is lightweight and easy to move, which makes it easy to place anywhere in my home. I suppose I could also use it as a decorative bowl on a mantle or nightstand, but I wouldn't use it as a serving bowl for food.At the time I am writing this, the cost is 24.99. I'm not seeing the value for the price because the wood quality isn't great, the finish is a bit too glossy, and the craftsmanship feels a little rough. The bowl does what it's supposed to do. It does actually hold the prayer cards and serve as a reminder of faith. Yet the overall experience is a bit underwhelming.Bottom line: it's a decent decorative piece that could use better materials, a bit more polish and attention to detail.
