Very Nice!

I have never had a need for one of these flag display cases before, so I didn't really know what to expect. There were so many to choose from, but I finally settled on this one, partly because of the style of the finish, but primarily because it had a wide (1 inch) trim around all sides on the front such that it would accommodate a brass nameplate. This display case is made from beautiful wood and is very nicely constructed. The backside opens easily without tools. It is made of a pressed wood (like Masonite) that is sturdy enough that it won't bend easily. The glass is secure in place and doesn't rattle around, and it cleaned up nicely before I placed the flag inside, which fit perfectly. It has an already installed saw-tooth hanger for hanging on the wall. It also stands nicely on its own from the base, primarily because it is almost 4" wide. Although the finish of the wood is beautiful (a smooth but not shiny finish, which I love), and because I am not hanging it on the wall, I placed some round self-stick felt pads on the base so that my furniture doesn't accidently get scratched. If you like the look of the finish of the wood of this display case, you should order it...you will love it.

Keep your loved ones flag in a beautiful case

Sorry for not sharing a picture of my Wife's flag as it's on her URN and I do not want that information out there. She was an amazing woman who served in the Navy and Air Force. She sadly passed last year (2023) due to complications with Cancer. The Hospice did an amazing internment ceremony ( I took a picture of her in bed but tastefully made sure you did not see her but the flag on the bed and the beautiful cross they had at the end of her bed) They folded the flag for me and gave it to me that night. Even through it was performed by the nurses as a Chaplin was not on duty it was a beautiful ceremony. She would have been honored. And this case holds her flag Beautifully. Thank you for having this on Amazon it was cheaper than the funeral home. You save me some money in this rough time thank you .. (and it look like better quality)

Elegant; flag fits perfectly. But UGH - the marketing insert marred a poignant moment.

Overall, perfect for protecting my dad's funeral flag.Simple, elegant design. Easy to insert the flag and enclose it. There's even a hanger on the back.The company should rethink, though, the marketing insert they add with this item.There I was, crying as I put dad's flag into the frame. It felt like I was burying him all over again.Then I come across a paper insert in the frame. It unfeelingly gloats--while I'm teary and raw, in a moment of reverence--"Congratulations! You just purchased a piece of happiness."Um, no. CRINGE. So awful, and broke the gravity of the moment. The insert is obviously meant to cover a wide range of products, but it's all wrong to put in with an item often used to memorialize death of a loved one. It's the wrong time to push social media and gush about 'contemporary styles at cool, comfortable prices'.That said, the product itself is just right for its purpose--I looked at hundreds before choosing this one-- and I recommend it highly. Five stars for that; and a big thumbs down for the unboxing experience.

Larger than I expected, but high quality and well thought out.

So far, I’m very pleased with this item. Once all of the pieces were together, it made for a very handsome display. The one they shipped was larger than the one pictured. I was still able to fit a 4 x 6 flag into the space with a little tucking here and there. The shadowbox area was much larger than pictured however, which is why I took off one star. I was assuming it was 8.5 X 11 but it was much larger and I was able to display some other awards. I particularly liked the black, Velcro-covered, Styrofoam backing in the certificate area. It is very easy to attach the certificate with the included Velcro, I included some service awards stuck into the Styrofoam. And I had some extra Velcro around the house and was also able to display some meaningful Challenge Coin awards that I had received along the bottom. Overall, even though it’s bigger than I expected, I really appreciated this product. It seems well made, and will last many years.
