Only used twice, great so far. I’m using to heat resin incense. I cut some small pieces of foil to place over the mesh screen so I don’t have to worry about clean up. Heating resin this way is not as strong aroma-wise as placing on a charcoal disk of course, but there is no smoke so it’s worth it to me. Looks pretty too. Seems like it will last. Came with an extra mesh screen which was appreciated too.
I'm enjoying this burner, and so far have used Frankincense, Myrrh and today I pulled some pine resin off the trunk of a White Pine, and burned that. It's been fun and gratifying. The use of resin from a pine tree in my yard was an experiment, and it worked, but note that if you burn White Pine resin, you'll want to set the tray at the highest level and put in a solid tray inside, to hold the resin because otherwise it drips down through the mesh, onto the tea light. White Pine resin is softer and melts quicker than other resins. The smell is amazing, however, and well worth it. I used a tiny steel tea bag tray in mine. You could also cut a small piece of aluminum flashing, I imagine, to hold softer resins.Anyway, when I first received the burner, the little wooden handle fell off, so I added glue and then screwed it back on. I'm enthralled with this burner and I think many people would enjoy it, since it's much less smoky than traditional incense sticks or cones.
The materials feel durable and well made, and it works exactly as described. Packaging was neat, and the item arrived in good condition.
Horrible item. Mine arrived broken. The pole that holds the burner together was snapped off. The product was broken and looked used, with scratches and missing parts.
i bought this because i liked the idea of being able to adjust the placement of plate. the plate is unstable- i can touch the burner and the plate will come falling down right on top of the candle. when trying to adjust to bring plate back up i can get it to stay in one of two places...but again, if i touch it after i get it where i want it, the plate will fall from position all the way to bottom. the design is cool but it's impractical.
This thing is exactly what I've been looking for.I use it to "burn/melt" Sambrani resin beside the Shiva lingam I travel with.I prefer this because the usual way of lighting a coal and placing the resin thereon results in a LOT of smoke. That method also burns up the resin very quickly. With this thing, I can control how hot the resin gets. Thereby controlling how fast it burns, how strong the smell is, and there is no smoke to set off hotel smoke detectors. As others have mentioned, the metal does get hot when the candle is burning. That's kind of the point. This same seller sells another more expensive version that has a wooden handle for adjusting the height up and down. However, I found the sweet spot and haven't had any need to make adjustments. The only thing I'm struggling with is finding replacement screens for when they are one day needed. However, the one in it has held up great thus far.Other people mentioned that the resin can drip through the screen. I have used my every day for the last four days and only today did I have that happen. However, the dripp'age fell into the candle below and there were no issues.*Pro tip: when you're done, let it cool. Then flex the screen. The resin will crack and fall off.Overall, I'm very satisfied. In fact, I just purchased another one for my husband.
