I purchased for a guest room with a bay window that has direct sun for most of the day. I estimate the curtains have reduced the temperature in the room by at least 10+ degrees, which helps to save on AC costs. The curtains also allow my guests to block out nearly all light. I made sure to hang the curtains about 6 1/2" higher than the top of the window for maximum blackout. I bought the brown, which is a beautiful deep chocolate rich brown (difficult to see in the picture since the room is so dark!). The second layer of fabric on the back side is black. I hung the curtains on a 1-inch diameter Meriville bay window curtain wrap around rod set in oil-rubbed bronze. The attached picture shows quite a bit of light at the ceiling since the bay window curtain rod set wraps around and is about 4" away from the window. I am very happy with the curtains and the curtain rod set. I recommend purchasing the curtains. I plan to buy a different color very soon for another room. You will not be disappointed.

The search for blackout curtains is over!

I live in a century home with lots of tall windows in every room which is, quite literally, painful for a migraineur in the sun drenched South. I close my curtains from June 1 to October 1 every year to save money on AC and to be able to live comfortably inside my home. I have had bought several blackout curtains in the past and they either were NOT blackout, or they had a stiff, plastic back and cracked and crumbled after a few years leaving light spots that would beam through.These "White" (with black backing) are truly blackout. Absolutely no doubt about it. The fabric is soft and satiny. To be honest, I do not like how the curtains look - they are too shiny for my taste and the white with black backing are silvery grey. But, I was always going to put them behind my current grommet curtains - I bought these over 108" curtain liners because they cost the same, or less, and had better reviews.So, to sum up:Blackout? ABSOLUTELY!Beautiful curtains? Meh, but I didn't care.I will buy more white with white backing because, unlike my bedroom that I want/need to be very dark, other parts of the house I'd like a hint of light to fade through. And, truthfully, even the true white might be too dark! Lol

Not white but they block light

Odd fabric and not nearly as white as in the picture. Really now if a light gray. But they block light well. They block street lights very well. They don’t block all daylight but they dim the light to the level of a rainy day.

Beautiful drapes!!

I purchased 4 sets of 2, in 2021. White/white. These drapes are wonderful! They’re soft, extremely durable, insulated very well, light blocking and pretty. So far, I’ve used these in 2 homes, and I expect them to last many more years in my next home. I’ve washed and dried them numerous times. They still come out looking like new and wrinkle free. I also like how much body they have. I don’t believe the company has advertised this, but they are very stain resistant. Highly recommend them.
