Nice fabric, good price, lots of sizes to choose from, well-insulated & true blackout of sun.

After a long search for affordable, quality insulated/blackout curtains for my east-facing apt. windows in Central Texas, I finally found the perfect curtains to ward off the hellish heat in the afternoons here, from May through September. These curtains are not only a reasonable price, but the quality of them is fantastic. I needed the maximum protection from the sun, but I did not want to be limited to buying black in order to maximize the 'blackout' aspect of them. The terra-cotta colored ones are perfect and they do eliminate light almost entirely. The fabric is substantial, but not too heavy, and has a nice subtle sheen to it (not shiny, though), and I love the options for how to hang the curtains, especially the hidden rod tabs on the back of the panels. They do arrive wrinkled, which is pretty much unavoidable, but I am sure that they will iron out with no problem. I love that I had a variety of sizes to choose from, because my apt. windows are oddly sized and strangely situated right smack dab against the interior wall, which makes for a challenge i how to hang them. Fast delivery too (only a day and a half). More and more I am heading to Amazon for items that I do not want to have to wait weeks and weeks to receive, as has been the case more and more lately with items I've ordered at Walmart.com, to be shipped. Walmart sells almost entirely Chinese goods that are poorer quality, priced often higher than Amazon's (for a better product and service). There's one item that I have now ordered 3 times from different sellers on Walmart.com, and twice now I have had to cancel the order due to non-shipment, and got tired of waiting. We'll see if this third item ever gets to me. Horrible customer service vs. great service from Amazon = a no-brainer. Also, Amazon's accounting is clear, not confusing like Walmart's. I really have to scrutinize my purchases and make sure that I am being billed for what I actually got! Bye bye Walmart.com.

A brighter inside of the house while staying warmer

This review is for the white curtains.They are beautiful, thick, hang nicely, and have a soft feel to them. The white curtains are absolutely NOT room darkening which is exactly what I want. They let in the glow of sunlight even if I have to keep the curtains closed all day to keep our house warm. Hopefully they will help keep the house cooler in summer.And these curtains are helping to keep our house warmer which means hauling less firewood.So with the white curtains the house stays brighter (less lights burning) and warmer. Very nice. A worthwhile splurge.

These curtains are heavy, which I like. Keeps the draft out of my house, holds back the cold and the heat. Not ideal for a large window if you don’t like all different panels. It looks nice on my bay window. A cheap “fix” and worked in a pinch for prying eyes. Definitely blocks light. Makes my room really dark even on quite sunny days.

Very nice curtains

I did have to return this item and reorder in a longer size as I miscalculated. They hung very nicely, and the fabric quality seems very nice, heavy yet soft. The color was a bit lighter than I expected but will work out fine as the room is dark. I like that you can choose more than one option to hang them and plan to use the tabs on the back. I have an older home with windows that will probably need replacing or some repair so hoping these curtains will help with any cold and block out the heat in summer.

Quality is not what I expected

I appreciate the earth friendly materials used with no formaldehyde or vinyl. Christmas red Burgundy color is ok, but thought it was a deeper color. It’s a brighter true red. Thought there were three layers, and from one of the pictures, thought the lining was white. It’s single layer, all burgundy. May sun fade horribly on the southwest facing windows—we’ll see. The worst part is the long “basting stitch” seams. All seams have long stitches, so they look cheap. We aren’t positive we’re keeping them. As I write this, I’m realizing how disappointing they are. But No stink from dangerous chemicals! And very insulating during the current bitter cold winter storm, meaning they’d also keep out the sizzling summer heat. They really are room darkening too—my husband commented on how dark they make the living room in the daytime!
