UPDATE: Bought in April, installed May, used on average once every 2 weeks. Totally dead by August. Dead, nothing does anything, even tried ac power. Cannot open the blinds at all to access the window. I installed them in a place that was difficult access. It will be a chore just to get to them.I had to pull them down. They sent me a replacement very quickly. But not the solar panel. It didnt work, probably got broken when the motor went out. But a month later they said they would send me a panel. At least the replacement is working on AC.Original review:This is exactly what I wanted. I am glad I didn't believe the review that said the solar panel was a waste. It works perfectly. I put the solar panel on the glass on the of the window, it comes with adhesive on it for that purpose. The motor is audible but not loud. Looks great too. The motors keep it straight all the way across instead of by hand that can leave crooked. Perfect for a wide space.Installation was easier than I expected. If you cannot reach across the blind a second person to help hang it will make it easier. It is more effort but still doable by one person.I added the remote and solar panel. The remote came set up already. It is a great remote and can control 15 different blinds. They can be all together or individual depending on the program selected. Instructions were easy to understand and follow. There was a different book for each part: solar panel, romorr and blind.I had problems with the side covers popping off while trying to hang it and they were popped off in the shipping box too. Minor, just had to push thrm back on each time i knocked one off, was a bit difficult to put the top one back on once the blind was hung as I mounted it in the window.Definitely will buy more of these. They look very well made .
They definitely get the job done. The end-result is very satisfactory. The color-matched valence is a bit of a let-down. It’s basically paper glued to the valence. There were several air bubbles and the laminate is somewhat fragile. The setup is a bit complicated and requires a dose of patience. The blinds all came paired to the remotes. But since I installed them in different rooms, I had to program the blinds to separate channels on the remote so that I could control them independently of one-another. I also had to reset the top and bottom limits a few times in order to get them performing consistently. The programming isn’t complicated, but it’s not very Intuitive either. And the instructions are a tad obtuse.Once it was all said and done I was able to pair them each to an Amazon Echo (Gen 4) and create some routines that open and close them on schedules as well as with trigger phrases like, “Alexa, bedtime.”Very cool and convenient product. Just keep reasonable expectations.
