Once we got it going (the hubby spent several hours on it and searched YouTube videos for answers) it worked perfectly and synched well with our Alexa. So I was very worried this wouldn't work but we couldn't be more pleased! I measured accurately as possible and they delivered. The install was a snap. Now that western Scottsdale, AZ sunset doesn't rip through our home. The battery charger cell is the best. I pray I get many years of use out of it. You won't be disappointed!

New improved design/Shade does NOT go completely flat when opened.

What I wrote to seller after installation:Hi Graywind:I have installed my blind and find it does NOT go down without sticking up on either side of the pull point. I expected the blind to completely collapse back to the bottom when opened. Even if left near the bottom and attempt to put down after 8 hours it will not go down on either side of the mid point where it is connected to the bar that the string pulls up/down from. Even if you push it down it will not stay down. Is there a remedy for this? See attached photo.The Seller response:Sep 7, 2024 12:54 AMHi Jeffrey, Thanks for sending a picture! Unfornately, it should be working like this. It is impossible to push it down further. 😢 Graywind ZoeI paid almost $600 for this shade! I am not happy. There was nothing in the Amazon ad that shows this is how it works. Also it does not connect with my Alexa or the Graywind app with the zigbee motor. (Apparently it needs a $60 hub to work that way) The solar panel does work good and there is a light that shows it’s charging also a port on the front to attach a charge cord just in case the solar charger does not work or you need to charge the battery with alternate means.I did not have any shade on this window for many years. I was happy to find this design and there was communication from the seller to verify the dimensions prior to them making it and confirming the order. But the functionality of the shade material is a real disappointment! I am wondering how long the shade will last if it is brought down to the bottom regularly vs. stopping it about 10” from the bottom before it crinkles the shade below that point.I believe I way overpaid for this! @$594 total.UPDATE 9-12-24: (Changed from 1 to 2 stars for now!)Zoe from Graywind contacted me. She says they improved the design and are going to replace the original with a new one they say will completely open flat. I’m hopeful and looking forward to the replacement. Update to follow.Update10-28-24: (Changed from 2 to 4 stars!)I did receive an improved replacement blind and installed it but after a few days noticed it did a similar thing where it crinkled where the stiffener is at the top. I did learn the Alexa device I originally had did not work with the blind. So I did upgrade to a Alexa+ 2nd gen. I setup a routine using my Alexa+(2nd gen.) to schedule opening and closing the blind and needed to change the open setting every couple of days to not jet the crinkle. The day of install it was an open to a setting of 2 (2% closed) BUT, that gradually changed to 6 (6% closed) over the last couple of weeks since I installed it. This is still a major improvement with the 2nd blind they made me as I was using a setting of 11 (11% closed) on the original blind.They improved the design by making the pull up point support piece within the blind 2X longer. I think they could make it even 3X longer to help with this condition. The Arched window has molding around it and so this would not be an issue with total view blockage even though there would be a larger gap at the top of the blind.CONCLUSION:I am happy with the improved blind and their customer support and communication.If you buy one of these, I would say be ready to just open it to a point of 6% closed to not have it show the crinkle. Still this is better than not being able to have a blind for this type of window. Having remote control and ability to use Alexa with the blind is a real plus.
