I actually attached the holders to the bottoms of the two front "feet" so I could use the easel as a stand to hold a 60" tall decorative panel made out of plywood, which probably weighs about 35 lbs. The easel works perfectly for it and I do believe it could support 50 lbs as described. The easel isn't overly heavy but is still sturdy, definitely better quality than I was expecting for $39. If I ever need another easel to support something big I'll be getting another one of these.

Ok for the price, but expect some assembly and things not to fit well.

The stand looks fine overall, but don’t expect too much. It comes in a small box and needs some assembly, which is where the issues start. There are quite a few bolts and pieces for such a simple stand, but the bolts are too long and bottom out before tightening fully, and going further bends the metal. The holes don’t align well, making the legs uneven. I got the gold version, but the silver bolts don’t match. It’s lightweight and feels a bit unstable, like it could tip over easily. It can hold a thick sign or canvas, but I wouldn’t trust it with anything heavy or valuable. For a cheap, one-time use stand, it’s fine.

Overall a decent easel.

Functional easel. Looks like it came out of storage, but nothing that affects its use. The part that holds the sign or canvas is adjustable so that is nice. Stays steady when using it.
