For Solid Construction, Bright Colors and the Sheer Size These Get 5 Stars
I must admit I thought some part of these were metal. And not just the core and the base. I thought like everything green was metal. I bought them to go outside based upon the word “Gardens” in the headline. I see what I want to see sometimes. No matter. When they arrived my wife and I assembled these obscenely large daisies. When we realized they were for inside events we started wondering where were we going to put them. (I even bought bailing wire to affix them to an outside fence post to protect them from the Oklahoma wind.) They ended up sitting in the kitchen next to the coffee bar. And they've been there for some 12 days.At first I saw them as a giddy looking eyesore. Spec'd out the front porch, but we have too much stuff out there now. No where else is covered sadly. Then I found myself liking them right where they are. Not just accepting them, but enjoying them. I found myself smiling when getting coffee. Spoke with the wife and we instantly agreed the giant floral arrangement would stay where it sat, in front of the bay window full of plants. With a “grow light” trained upon it.The size and simplicity are what ultimately appealed to me. There are three metal, flexible stems attached to a single metal base with three “spikes” upon which to place them. The stems are covered with an odd kind of green clothy paper. It doesn't feel like felt, but I guess it could be. The leaves protruding from the stems are a plastic cloth with a wire running in the center where the midrib would be. They can be bent in just about any position. Then come the heads . . . Three different sizes (approximately 31, 26 and 23 inches wide) they also stand on various sized stems. I'm not usually an orange kind of guy, but with the large 3D yellow stamen in the center softening the tawny hue, they work. The seller says they are 69 inches tall, but you will determine the height when you bend the stems. They would also have you know that they are easy to install and pack up and they are pretty much right. However when the flowers arrive they are so condensed in the box as to appear to be a much smaller item from the outside. It will take much more space to store them unfolded. Again, your fluffing will determine the ultimate size, orientation and relative relationship among the three. There are three little butterfly stickers accompanying the flowers, but they are so detailed and realistic looking that we decided that we wouldn't use them on these simply executed flowers. Besides they don't need adornment. They are like owning and displaying the giant penny from the Batcave.I know this is not the end of the adventure for these over-sized blossoms. We will add them to something or add something to them. They are too cool to just leave there idle. Because of the solid construction, bright colors and the sheer size I am giving these giant blooms 5 Stars and thanking the Amazon buyers for providing the opportunity to order something so out of the ordinary.
