Soft and Cute

This rug was not exactly what I was expecting, but I'm not mad about it. I thought it was jute (with a rubber-type bottom), but it is a printed soft material on top (with a rubber bottom). It was my fault for not reading it more closely. It is very soft and feels great to walk on. Our yellow Lab wouldn't stop laying on it, she's a fan too. It fits perfectly where we wanted it to and compliments our new floor as we had hoped. We have a robot vacuum that moved over it with ease. It has not been washed it yet, but it feels thick and durable. The rubber bottom keeps it in place without bunching. When it was first taken out of the package, it has creases; it was folded, not rolled. However, after a few hours it laid flat. I will be purchasing a second one shortly, I'm a fan.

Alternative to traditional stair treads

Got this runner to protect the main tread-path stairs down into my great room. I will need to get some double sided tape to help hold it to the steps and concrete, but so far it is working pretty well on its own. There's still a little crease down the middle, but it's only been a couple of days and I have not experienced any trip hazard. And they stay in place with very little movement over time. I think just a little extra help from the double sided tape will completely secure them without any damage to either carpet or runners. My carpet is really deep and plush with an extra thick pad, so having a thin runner works well. I love the velvety softness of the material. These are a great value and alternative to traditional stair treads and I love how well they blend with the house decor. I wish it came in extra long lengths - I'd trade that brown runner so I'd have a matching set!

Thin washable rug. Easy to clean and hides dirt in high traffic areas.

I ordered the 2x6 runner in the Jute color for use on a hardwood floor in my hallway. I do own another washable rug that I use in my kitchen. This rug is much thinner than my other 5x7 that was a similar price. This rug is 1/4 inch thick per my measurement. This is not necessarily a bad thing depending on your use case. In my hallway, it’s fine and you don’t trip on it. It protects the floor from my cat’s sudden zoomies. In a living room, where you might want to lay or sit on it, there is not much padding.I have mixed opinions on the non slip backing. While it does not bunch up when walking on it or when my pets run on it, it does tend to shift sideways from walking normally back and forth. I have to readjust it a couple of times per day. It only shifts an inch or so but on hardwood I can tell it’s crooked when it’s out of line with wood slats.The color is darker than what I was expecting from the photos. It is more brown leaning rather than the natural color of jute. The design is printed on, not woven, but unless you put your face to it, it’s not a detractor. It does hide any dirt or dust and is easy to vacuum. You can actually sweep it with a broom since it is so thin.When you first lay the rug down, it does have a lot of creases and wrinkles due to being folded for shipping and the thinness of rug. I included before and after pictures to show that most of the creases naturally fall out over time. I took the pictures one week apart.

Very soft but can tell it’s dyed

This rug is very soft, which isn’t always the case with the thinner, washable rugs. It also has no slip backing which is doing great so far on a tile floor. The creases seem to be easing up a bit after being out for a day or two, but they are still there. One is very deep and I’m not sure it’s going to come out.The big issue for me is that the edges where the rug is cut and when you rub against the grain (shoe or foot prints, etc) you can clearly tell that the rug started out white and was dyed dark. It’s like the roots are showing. Since this is a charcoal grey rug, this is very noticeable.I do love the scalloped edges and this rug overall. However, it does look cheap on the floor. I think this would be great for a more hidden space like under a dining room table where the light is not shining directly on it. For now it serves its purpose but I will be looking for a replacement.

Attractive scalloped edging with impeccable stitching

I discovered washable area rugs a few years ago and have now amassed a couple dozen of them thought my house. I have two pukey cats and a muddy kid, so being able to throw my rugs in the wash instead of pulling out the carpet cleaner has been a game changer.Like all washable rugs, this one is thin. This is how they are able to fit in the wash. This also means the corners are liable to curl, especially in high traffic areas where they’re likely to get kicked. I recommend planning the location so the corners of the rug can be placed on furniture to hold them down, or put a little carpet tape under the corners to help keep them in place. Besides the corners, I don’t find the thinness to be an issue, even with a rambunctious kid running around.Nearly half of my washable area rugs are Garvee. I find the creases in my Garvee rugs take a couple of days to relax and then they’re never an issue. To avoid creases after the wash, set the timer on your washing machine so the rug finishes washing before you wake up and then just put it back in its place to dry while everyone is out of the house. Or, I find a lot of these can be draped over the top of a door or across a few chairs.I like layering these washable area rugs. It looks good, provides more insulation, and you can wash the bottom rug if a mess happened on it while the top one was in the wash.
