I would say it isn't super thick so I wouldn't use it as a play rug until he's older in case he were to fall over and smack his head on the ground. This rug is so nice for the price! It looks great in my son’s room and the colors are nice and vibrant just as advertised. It is a bit on the thin side, which I personally liked, as the door can open and close over it. It is important to know it is not slip resistant so maybe recommend putting something under it to keep it in place. Vacuum is able to pick up and clean it nicely, would spot clean for any stains as I would be careful that the color does not come out.

Black is not black. It’s dark grey and tan

The black one is VERY grey and tan. There were also hard creases which ruined the dark color of it, they were very visible. It was very soft though and may be perfect in a different color! I just ended up going with something else.
