I wanted wood shelving for my collection of books. I was nervous about reviews that showed wobbling with the internal hardware, but figured I’d try them.Can confirm the hardware is not sturdy. But this is fixable. And I am still glad I got these, because the wood is gorgeous and these were much more affordable. I bought L brackets on Amazon that look great and are additional supports to the existing hardware. I’ve included a video without the L brackets (showing the wobbling).

I’m torn about the rating. The actual shelf is beautiful and well made. The hardware isn’t great. The screws are not good quality (a thing I learned in installing these is there is such a thing as cheaply made screws) and the wall anchors would warp when putting the screws in.Here are some tips: don’t use a drill for the screws. Using a screw driver doesn’t warp the anchors and while the very cheap screws still strip a little with this method, it doesn’t strip them completely.The metal wall frame looks bent when you remove it from its location on the back or the shelf from the box. It is. It will flatten pit when you screw it to the wall but to do this, screw in one end, then the inside of the opposite end, then the inside of the 1st end, then the other end or it’s impossible to keep at a straight line and when you put the shelf on it’s not level. I redid this 3 times before I got the shelf level.Last tip- follow the instructions and make sure the arrows face up on the metal bracket. The metal brackets are angled up and when you slide the shelf on, it looks like you did it wrong but when you put things on the shelf, it evens out a little.Overall, good shelf, not amazing. Terrible screws.
