Friendship ornament w/ translation error. Makes a funny/snarky gift 4 someone. Cute holder/card.

While this is a cute item, I think there's a verbal error that makes it have an unintended message. Cute round ornament in various orange tones. Has a pix of 4 friends sitting in front of a sunset with their arms around each other as a group. Nice gift for friends, except... it reads "There are people in this world/ who make things better/ whenever they go". I think they very much meant to say "wherever" they go, but whenever they go makes it funny. Like you make the world a better place when you leave, is how I'm reading it. The final message on the bottom of the circle in all caps reads "thank you for being one of them". So I got this for a friend, but obviously you need to give it to someone with a sense of humor and explain it to them. Most of my friends were English majors, so we can have a good laugh about the error, but it may irk them. There is a cute card enclosed in the adorable, Christmas-themed envelope/ornament holder. The holder is a tab closure, so perfect for stocking stuffing and you don't have to re-wrap. I'll read you "The Gift of/Friendship" card enclosed - A true friend is someone who understands/your heart even when you don't say a world.' Someone who stands beside you through/ laughter and tears, turning ordinary/ moments into cherished memories./No matter where life takes us or how much/time passes, you'll always have a place in my/ heart - because real friendship never fades./ - Forever friends./ So you can use this thing 2 ways. The way I said, where you give it to a friend and explain/apologize for the error. Or, you can be a jellyfish sort of person and give it to someone you dislike (I'd choose a former coworker, for example, who wasn't very bright but was a B on wheels) because then it really is true that she makes the world better when she leaves. But you gotta hope that person doesn't have the smarts to figure it out. Or you can pretend you didn't see it. The message is on both sides, one shiny and one matte. It's a good-sized circle and would make a nice ornament. I'm still gonna gift it to a friend whose husband is Muslim, because they won't put it on a tree and she'll think it's funny (teacher at a state U). But yeah. Somebody should have caught that error before they printed/fabricated these. That's why it gets a "B". Amazing how one letter can make a world of difference!

Well made and good sized ornament. The colors are very bright and the sentiment was perfect for my group of 3 traveling friends.
