Helps with heat retention
For the longest time I was using one of those hospital blankets behind my blackout curtains on the slider doors. The slider is older and I can feel the cold coming off the glass, as well as drafts from the partition between panes. Its super annoying, so I use blankets pinned up or insulating sheets, anything extra to help keep the heat in and the cold out. So when I came across this panel, I was willing to give it a try, even if my expectations were low.When it arrived, I immediately put it up. It already has one piece of the velcro stitched to the top, and the paired other side with a sticky backing. I stuck that to the cold metal of the slider frame and it is still stuck up there. This stuff is extra sticky with amazing grip. I mean, I wouldnt hang from it, but it sticks better than a lot of super glues i have used. The velcro is a nice touch as well. If my kids pull on it hard, it will come apart without wreaking havoc on the wall from hardware coming out. And although this isn't insulated, I can feel a real difference between the side that has just a curtain and the side that has the double curtains.The color is supposed to be green, but pushes more toward the grey side. I like it, though. It is a soothing color. The texture is stiff and slightly soft. Feels more like something I could find in an office.

Practical no-drill installation
The material is a midweight fabric that blocks sunlight well. It has a slightly stiff feel, which is typical for blackout panels. Mine arrived with a few crease marks from packaging, but they steamed out easily. No chemical smells in the fabric or packaging.The Velcro is strong and feels secure. I haven’t installed the sticky side Velcro yet because the panel ended up being too small for my window. The listing does mention “allow slight deviation of 1 inch due to manual measurements,” and in my case it was an inch shorter and an inch narrower. The length wasn’t an issue, but the width was—being an inch narrower means it doesn’t fully cover the window, which defeats the purpose of a blackout curtain. If it had matched the stated width or even ran slightly wider, it would have worked fine.While I don’t personally love the look of a curtain without a rod, it’s a practical alternative when drilling isn’t possible. In my case, the walls are cement block with a rocker panel top layer, and drilling into them requires special bits and makes a mess. For renters or anyone with similar wall types, the Velcro mounted design makes sense even if it’s not the most polished aesthetic.

Super Quick and Easy to Install
I was looking for a temporary window covering for my guest room until I get around to painting it, and this works great for that purpose. It goes up quickly and easily with no screws or nails, which is great for if you’re a renter or college student (or have plaster walls like me). Though I can’t speak to whether or not the adhesive would damage paint when removed, as I haven’t tried to remove it yet. The Velcro hold is fairly strong and I don’t anticipate the curtain falling down on its own. It seems to be thick enough to work as a blackout curtain, my neighbors have obnoxiously bright porch lights and I can’t see them at all through this curtain. I would recommend this if you’re looking for a quick and easy window covering; especially if you can’t or don’t want to put holes in your walls.
