Nice concept, poor construction. First, the average book is approximately 8 inches, so the depth is not really sufficient for books. Secondly, the gauge of the metal is entirely too thin. Upon placing books on the shelf the books appeared to be tilting away from the wall. The remedy, use a much heavier gauge or add support brackets..
These were very heavy metal shelves but were impossible to get to sit level on the wall. The design puts the screws in a very tricky spot to use a drill with.
I give this product like 0.5 stars because that’s probably the max weight it can safely hold. A couple of paperbacks will be fine but as soon as you put one hardcover book on it, it starts to bend at the part that attaches to the wall. The anchors that come with are terrible and will split in half so use your own and save yourself the trouble if you choose to get these shelves. There is no way this shelf could hold 5 lbs without warping, let alone 20-25 lbs the company wants you to believe it can hold.
Buy it now. I love the sleep minimalist look and it perfectly fits all my books. Easy to put up and love that they included the drywall anchors, I put them right next to each other 😁
