Sturdy, versatile, yet very light.

Overall, I would say this shelf set, has pretty good value for the money, especially considering the rarity of Paulownia wood in the US.They are a good size, if your walls use 16in on center stud spacing, they're very easy to mount due to being the proper width for that spacing. If you don't have the ability to mount to a spot where there are stud directly behind the wall panel, that isn't a problem, as the shelves do come with the necessary drywall anchors and screws for secure mounting. The wood used for the rustic version is listed as Paulownia. Which seems to be true, as the plank is extremely light for its size, yet is still strong. The shelf itself is sturdy, and holds a fair amount of weight, but, the brackets in the up position have a small amount of flex to them.The product page is correct in the fact that the shells can be mounted in 2 ways. Either in the fashion shown in my picture, or with the brackets below, and the board on top.The shelf wood itself, doesn't have a finish on it out of the package. But, I think it would look nice with either a regular satin clear coat, or even a rustic stain finish.

Wow super impressed with the quality of these shelves, not what I was expecting. Thought these would be like many other cheaply made laminate pieces but these are solidly made wood. Most impressive is the finish on these, smooth, even, no rough edges. (White color) Will definitely buy again. And would buy more if only they came in more sizes. Quality product, nice surprise.

Lightweight but Functional Floating Shelves

The Fixwal 12 Inch Deep Floating Shelves look great and are a nice addition to my space. The shelving itself is lightweight, which makes it feel a bit weaker than expected, but they’ve held up well so far — even with my large, heavy router sitting on them.One cool feature is that the shelves can be flipped upside down if you want a different look, which is a nice touch.The only issue I had was screwing them into the wall. It can be a little tricky to secure them properly where the holes line closest to the angled portion align.Overall, I’m satisfied with how they look and function. They’re affordable, versatile, and do the job well for decor or light storage.

Perfect Lego display.

They're perfect for my son's Lego displays. The wood is really lightweight, like balsa, yet strong with no warping. I chose shelves with this width so I could hit the studs if I wanted, but ended up using the anchors once we decided where we wanted them to go. The screws that come with the anchors, unusually, are wood screws so it'd be easy to mount to the studs if you had something a bit heavier than Lego to place on it. I'll be buying another set.I saw comments regarding the angle of the triangular brackets making it difficult to screw in the screws. I mounted my shelves inside the brackets with no problems. The top screws of the brackets, where the angle is acute, are screwed down to the wall first, the brackets are then slid onto them...I was able to screw them down a final half turn with the provided screw driver withoutb difficulty. The second set of screws are screwed in with ease at the right angle. In the other orientation, with the shelf mounted on top of an inverted bracket, I could see it being difficult to screw in the front end of the shelf to the bracket.
