Sturdy, attractive stand for signs and displays

This is a very nice display easel that works well for welcoming signage or event displays. I used it to hold a 24 x 36 inch sign at the front door of my studio, and it felt stable and well-suited for that purpose. The height is adjustable, which makes it easy to position the sign so it’s visible without being intrusive.The white metal finish looks clean and neutral, making it appropriate for a wide range of settings—home gatherings, studio tours, weddings, memorials, or other events where a simple, professional display is needed. It easily supports a larger sign without feeling flimsy.This is clearly a display easel, not a traditional artist’s easel, but that’s exactly what I wanted. For signs, artwork displays, or similar presentation needs, it works very well. Sturdy, stable and well designed

During my time as a trade show promoter I have used just about every type of tripod/easel ever invented. This one ranks right up there at the top of the list. It is very sturdy and stable. During an event people inevitably will bump into the tripod legs and knock it out of whack, if not completely over. This tripod is sturdy enough to take the abuse and not get bent out of shape. On some other tripods, the legs merely slide together and do not latch. If you pick them up to move them, the legs come apart. The legs securely screw together on this one.The white paint looks nice but be careful when sliding on the brace for the front legs. It is easy to scrape off some paint.Assembly tip: The instructions are pretty good and easy to follow. Pay attention when is says the open part of the hooks should face up and also be sure the "bow" at the top is facing the front before assembling. I didn't and had to unscrew everything and start over. After assembly I used pliers to squeeze the front hook closed so the chain can not come out and get lost.All in all this is a sturdy well designed easel that should provide years of service. Recommended.

More of a display stand than a artist easel

I purchased this 55 inch adjustable easel with high hopes that it would work well for my teenager's painting projects. She is an artist who loves to paint but sometimes needs to paint with the canvas standing rather than lying flat. We needed something that wouldn't be difficult to store and could be easily broken down.The stand came in a small package, proving just how little space this item needs and how handy it would be to use while traveling. However, there's no carrying case so it's hard to keep everything together. While this is easy enough to fix, it would have been a nice touch to include a bag.The first challenge came with assembly. There's a card with pictures on it which is intended to serve as a full set of directions. This was very frustrating to me, as I need words on my directions. Ultimately I ended up doing mine a little differently, but it was a pain to figure out. Your mileage may vary depending on your skill as a product assembler.Once I got the easel assembled, I realized it's probably not going to be great for my kid to paint on. I don't think it will hold heavy canvases. The height is easily adjustable and the legs are solid and can be locked in place, but the canvas just doesn't feel well supported. I was afraid it would break while using a 12 inch canvas and can't imagine it would hold my 4 foot wide canvases! I felt that the effort needed to assemble this item would prevent me from using this as a portable easel.This seems better suited for lightweight signs or posters rather than for use as an artist's easel. It looks nice and is much less expensive than comparable items. I would not recommend it for use for paintings.

Arrived broken and unusable

I was excited to order this but unfortunately it arrived broken. it must have had a rough trip because the weld that holds the bracket nut in place was broken off, so the screw will not hold the bracket in place. It's a lightweight painted white rods that screw into each other. It looks like you could take it apart easily to store.I'm not happy, as I was in the process of assembling it when this was discovered.The 1 page illustrated instruction was okay, however the pieces aren't labeled so you have to figure out on your own which ones go where.The white paint is thin and easily scratched. I did like that the back leg was adjustable and it could fold flat for storing it. I'm not sure that it could hold anything of any weight securely. I wanted it to hold a poster and I'm sure it would have handled that. As to the value for money I don't think it's worth the almost 50.00 they have it priced at.
