Truly blackout curtains

I replaced another set of 'blackout curtains' for these. I think the issue was the original set was beige with a white liner. I purchased dark gray this time. There is no light shining through as shown in the picture. This is facing direct West and normally there is light coming through at this time of day. As you can see there is no light.
