Funny product, but does need to be aired out first

I like the current trend of "dumpster fire" stuff, and since I work from home, I thought my spouse's office would get a kick out of this product. It arrived shrink-wrapped together, and there are two pieces: a base and the main piece with an attached spinner. The product is made of what seems like pretty thick particle board-type material. It is a little difficult to get the main piece into the base, but it feels like it will stay in place. The spinner is also a little loose, but it does seem to work. The graphics and colors are really nice, and it would be a fun desk accessory.The biggest concern I have, however, is that once I took the shrink wrap off, I noticed that this product has a VERY strong smell. It isn't necessarily unpleasant, but it is disconcerting, and after handling the product, my hands smelled strongly as well. I actually put the product outside overnight to air it out. This did seem to help, as it didn't smell as strongly in the morning.At the time of this review, this product was $9.99, which seems to be a decent price for a desk accessory like this. My spouse's co-workers thought it was funny, so I think it's worth it just for the laughs.

TL;DR - While I'm not really sure what this is for or why someone would order it, it is well-made, with vibrant colors and solid construction. So if you like what you see, you'll be happy with the execution.I ordered this as a bit of a 'surprise', as there was no photo and I could only judge what it was by the description, and I like the whole 'dumpster fire' aesthetic. I'm not really sure what it is FOR - does it remind me of the day of the week? Is it funny because every day is a dumpster fire, so you just spin it? No idea. It is, however, quite well-made, being of solid construction, with vibrant colors, and a very smooth spin. I'm thinking maybe I'll cover up the days of the week with something more interesting, like dinner options or something.As I said, if you like the design and can figure out what to do with it, it is a high quality little item.

This is a silly little desk calendar that lets you keep track of the day of the week - as long as you remember to turn it. Chances are it will stay on Wednesday for months.
