Amazing Door Mat – Keeps Our Home Clean Every Day

I can’t speak highly enough about this Dirt Trapping Door Mat. It may look ordinary, but it is truly amazing. We have two dogs, five cats, and four humans in the house, and this mat grabs all the dirt and mud from our feet and paws every time we walk in.I’ve had it for a couple of months, and it has taken quite a bit of abuse — yet it still works perfectly. The non-slip backing is excellent and doesn’t budge once it’s laid down, even with constant traffic. It’s super absorbent, quick-drying, and continues to keep our floors clean and dry.The low-profile design fits nicely under the door, and the taupe color is both stylish and practical. It’s also washable, making maintenance a breeze. This mat is tough, reliable, and a total game-changer for our busy household — highly recommend!

Serves a purpose, not decorative. Unattractive, thin and cheaply made, traps some debris.

Utilitarian, not decorative whatsoever. The edge stitching on the taupe mat contrasts very noticeably lighter. It's shown that way in the product photos but Mrs Aloha Friday and I didn't realize how bad it was until we had it in front of us. The rug is very lightweight and more suitable as a bathroom rug than for an entryway. It's washable, so it has to be thin, and we didn't consider that. We were replacing a very heavy, rubber backed door mat, and this doesn't hold a candle to that. Of course, we can't wash the heavy rubber backed rug though. If you're in a cold climate and will be tracking snow and mud onto the rug, it's not going to hold up. It's more for light wear under normal conditions, like just going from a back deck into the house in moderate climates. The grippy backing isn't the best, especially if you're really wiping your shoes hard on it, but it isn't moving around terribly. It's very wrinkled from being folded, but Mrs Aloha Friday and I have only had it down for a few days. Most of the wrinkles should fall out, but that's the trouble with such a thin rug. We'll be looking for another and maybe save this for the summer. The heavy duty rubber backed rugs can be found for the same price as this one, so we don't find it to be a good value at all. We feel the 32x48 size should be in the $20 range. We'd have rated this lower, but in all fairness, it's as described and the bad decision to use it was ours.

What I like:The rug stays in place very well, with no inadvertent scooting or displacement from routine foot traffic, which is impressive, as our kitchen tile is very slick, despite being totally dry.Despite the low-profile design, the rug provides for very comfortable prolonged standing at the kitchen sink, washing dishes.There were no strong chemical odors at all upon unpacking, so there was no off-gassing deemed necessary.What I don't like:I had initially assigned 4 stars as the overall rating. However, despite only having had the rug in place for less than a week, we are finding out just how easily the looped textile can be snagged. Basically, at the rate that the product is coming unsewn, I'll be surprised to see this rug last more than a month, before it becomes downright unsightly; it's just not durable enough for routine foot traffic or paw traffic.The rug is visually attractive. but the looped pile design is apparently prone to snagging on pet claws. Even if my Husky just casually walks over the rug, his rear claws (which are kept trimmed and filed smooth) the fibers will snag on his claws.The ease of snagging is causing numerous bare spots to develop, as once a cluster of fibers are snagged and pulled loose, it reveals the stark, white backing.I would not order this item again.

Does the job, perfectly OK for the price

Overall I think it’s ok for the price. Does the job but it’s not made it to last forever.The color is accurate, dimensional shades of light brown and taupe. Hides dirt well. Vacuums easily.The bottom is grippy to hold it in place. It arrives rolled but lays flat after a day or so (the slight bump in my photo is from a smaller doormat underneath.)In term of durability, if you have a pet - be aware that their nails/claws will create pulls in the threads. When this happens I’ve been trimming them and after about 1 month, it’s not noticeable at all (no bald spots) - not sure how long I will get away with doing that. The woven threads are not very dense and are prone to pulls.This is the 2’8”x4’ (Rectangular) size shown in the picture.

Holds up to snow boots but not cats

This made it through our first 2 snows when we folded it out at the front door to catch ice and salt. We threw it into the laundry between storms and it held up well.Know that this isn't hard bristly fabric, though. It's a softer, woven top- soft enough that when our cat decided to use it to scratch her nails, the threads pulled apart easily and now we have fabric loops all over it.I'm giving it 5 stars because not everyone has a cat, and because it performed its function as an entranceway floor mat. Also, I did love that you can roll it up and stow it in a closet when not needed, vs firmer mats which aren't as flexible for storage.As I'm afraid the kids' shoes will get caught in the snagged areas, I was going to relegate the mat to the basement but the kids asked me to keep it near their favorite comfy chair upstairs because they like the cushiony feel of it on our hardwood floor in the winter. We've retired it to that location for now, and are clipping looped fabric to prevent falls.Would recommend buying it if you don't have a feline companion.
