Unexpected scent - very powdery

My husband had gotten some Palo Santo scented soap, and I LOVE it! When I saw the Dinil Palo Santo Incense Sticks – 100 Sticks | Hand-Rolled, Charcoal-Free | Clean Burn, I had to try it out. I had never smelled palo santo (that I recall) before a year ago, so his soap is the only frame of reference I have for the scent. When I took a big whiff of the Dinil palo santo incense sticks, I was taken aback by how powdery they smelled, and I do not like it. It’s very strong and triggers my allergies, unlike hubby’s soap. I don’t know if different varieties of the herb smell differently or if it’s the other ingredients that make both items smell so differently. I think if I burn it with some peppermint incense, or some other sharp & clean scent, it will provide a bit more balance to the scent. I haven’t had a chance to burn it yet, because I need to have lots of ventilation (doors & windows open) and need to have taken an allergy pill first. I did notice they are not as long as the other incense I have; however, I haven't gotten incense in a long time to determine whether they are shorter than typical or not. Will update how it burns when I am able to do so. In the meantime, they are staying sealed in its package. I do think the $9 price point (at time of order) is a good value for 100 hand-rolled sticks.

Beautiful scent, great length & burn time!

I am not a very big incense person, usually preferring candles, because of the amount of smoke that incense sometimes emits & the very strong, artificial scent so many brands have. When I saw the different scent options this brand has I was intrigued & when I saw the Palo Santo scent I decided to give them a try. The amount of incense sticks in the package is a LOT at 100 of them so the package is a lot bigger than most packs & this is the first time that I am actually glad that it is. The smell is amazing! Both before they are lit & while they are actually burning. I find the stick length to be about standard & perfect for myself as I do not want something that burns for an hour or more. I normally get about 30-40 minutes each stick. The cleansing power is fantastic. They really clear the energy & atmosphere in my home. I didn't think that I would get that clarity from just using incense alone so I am actually very impressed. The price is phenomenal for what you get & how many. As long as I am able to buy this brand of incense I will definitely be a frequent incense burner. I plan on trying at least a few more different scents because the variety has so many intriguing options.
