Nice curtains, but lighter colors not "blackouts", and if up against direct sunlight, should come with an eye mask

The very good:The fabric is indeed very soft and pleasant to touch, and non-bulky.They do seem to have made a significant difference in lowering the temperature of my east-facing upstairs bedroom (previous curtains were thicker and darker, attracting and holding and radiating more heat).I was afraid the "greyish white" color might be too light or bright, but it is more like a pleasantly soft, light, matte grey color.The not-as-good:The fabric is solid and tightly-woven, but not very thick, and has no backing. So unless the darker colors do have a different backing (which I was unable to determine from the photos), it's a good thing I got a light color, or they would have been pointless, temperature-lowering-wise.They are NOT, as they claim to be, "blackout" curtains. Yes, they block the direct rays of the sun from beaming in, but a LOT of light shines through (more than with my previous curtains). Enough to where I don't think the ambient light could be classified as "dim", and I will definitely need a good, form-fitting eye mask if I expect to be able to sleep past sunup.
