Beautiful!
UPDATE: The new hide has more white. The size is a medium and is perfect for the area it was intended. I wish it would have had nore dark on it like the first XL I had to return, but it is still absolutely stunning! Part of the beauty is that each is unique, and I will embrace it. It has the coloring portrayed in the example photo for specimens from this particular ranch. Light to dark ratios vary. Maybe I will order a second one!I wanted a medium. However, I saw that a Large was available to be delivered much more quickly. I was excited about getting a cowhide rug, and I am impatient by nature....so I ordered the large instead of a medium lol. I knew that it may not fit as well as a medium. What I received, pictured, was actually an XL, as indicated by the tiny letters on the back of the hide and confirmed by measuring it. It was far larger than I wanted. I THINK it was returned. That would explain it being available to be shipped so quickly. My theory is that it was returned due to the size discrepancy. The "x" in the "xl" on the back is a little smeared. Maybe misread?I contemplated keeping it, because it was EXACTLY the coloring I was hoping for in a hide rug. Incredibly soft, and beautiul. However, I didn't want to settle. It does have a chemical smell to it. I did not like that one bit. The hair and top portion is genuine, but it appears to have been glued to faux suede. I imagine that is the source of the smell. For this price point, I am willing to accept that and ordered a medium and am praying for similar coloring. This is still worth every penny IMO. For something 100% genuine, I would expect to pay upwards of $300 starting. This is a bargain, and if it lasts a couple years, I will be happy enough.
