Easy To Install/High-End Looking Track.
I don't normally write reviews but the other reviewers advice was super helpful in making this a virtually pain-free installation so I thought I'd echo some suggestions:-I used a 7/32 drill bit and it was indeed the perfect size for the anchors.-I tried to use a laser level but found out green laser levels work best on ceilings and I only had red. I didn't want to buy another level so I used a thick business card that was exactly 2" to trace a line on my ceiling. I would align the holes in the bar directly in the middle of my pencil line and mark where to drill. Worked perfectly. You want the railing to be 1-2" off the wall so your curtains lay nicely.-I used a long skinny screwdriver to hand screw them in. I started in the middle and worked my way out, slowly tightening them to ensure the track was straight.-Another commenter said the screws provided sucked and to purchase #6 screws at the store – I did that but found the screws provided were totally fine when hand screwing them in, I didn't have a single one strip on me. I think it's best to go low and slow and hand screw them in anyways. You don't want to accidentally dent the railing, etc.-Make sure to have the metal connecter already installed/sticking out halfway when screwing each bar into the ceiling.-Make sure to have end caps installed & install the hooks prior to hanging up your last track.-I pre-counted how many curtain hooks I'd need with my particular set of curtains and added those to the track before closing it off. I found they provided more than enough hooks.-Cutting the track with the saw provided was not fun but I got it done anyways. If you have better tools this will be a breeze but I don't & made do. I used a nail file to file down the end lol. It's completely covered by curtains and the metal end cap anyways.Overall, from tracing to steaming the curtains, it took four hours but I wanted it to be perfect. The track looks great, is incredible sturdy, and the curtains glide nicely. They do catch a very tiny bit at the connection points, despite my near painstaking installation, but I just think that's the nature of the product. I'm using these mostly for window dressing more so than actual blackout curtains so it doesn't bother me at all. I love the look so much I'm now replacing the curtain system in my guest room! Hope these tips help you out a bit.
