This is a beautiful, well- polished piece that looks exactly like the picture. I especially love it because i bought it not knowing I'd be adopting a black kitten a short time later, so it holds a special place in my heart. It is the perfect size to fit in the palm of my hand.
So cute! Love this little matte black obsidian sleeping kitty.The little figurine came in a little pink box however In the store page picture the figurine appears glossy in reality it’s matte.. I looked it up and this could be due to the manipulation of the obsidian which apparently also can be different colors not just black not just glossy.I personally am not unhappy that it’s matte it’s still cute and has a sweet sleep expression.. very much a cat sleeping expression, the quality and cost are good value for what it is. It’s nicely weighted as well and it’s small ( just under 2 inches) which allows it to be placed easily in a lot of different areas in the house or even to carry it with you.
I am obsessed with this. I love cats, I love crystals, so this was an immediate I NEED IT, when I saw it. The sleeping cat is adorable and the detailing is really well done. The features really stick out because of the detail. It looks like a tiny curled-up cat, not a weird blob pretending to be one.The obsidian has a nice weight to it and feels solid and well made. It looks great sitting on my desk and makes me smile when I look at it. I also loved the pink box it came in.If you dig crystals, cats, or both, you need this. It’s small, it's cute, and is worth every penny.
This little cat figurine is adorable and makes a perfect addition to my trinket shelf. It may not be real obsidian, but it looks nice and has a sleek, polished finish. Small, simple, and charming, exactly what I was hoping for.
This small, palm-sized carved kitty is a lovely size stone. The color is a deep black, as the pictures show, but I'm not sure what kind of obsidian it is; it's clearly a hard stone, but the finish is a flat matte and slightly irregular. If you're looking for a well-polished, shining stone, this isn't it. It's small enough to tuck on a bookshelf or hold as a fidget, and it isn't too heavy given the small size.This isn't the nicest statuette I've seen, but the price is very reasonable if your expectations are reasonable.
This sleeping cat piece is not what I was expecting because it looks nothing like the photo illustrations. I'm not sure if this is even genuine Obsidian because volcanic glass is shiny and has a grounding effect when it's being held, unlike this one. Overall, based on this user experience, I would not recommend purchasing this item or giving it to someone as a gift.
I’m really disappointed with the quality of the finish on this cat figurine. While the weight of it in your hand and the overall feel of it makes me believe that it is stone, I’m not at all convinced that it is true obsidian.The figurine itself is actually really charming and reminds me a bit of a Japanese netsuke. Unfortunately, the finish leaves much to be desired. Because it is suppose to be made of obsidian, the surface should be completely smooth, you should be able to see at least a few gold striations as you turn it in your hand, and it should have a highly polished finish. This 2” figurine has none of these features. As you can see in my second photo, the finish is dull and there are numerous little pits all over the cat’s hiney. The third photo shows the cat sitting on top of an obsidian massage rock for comparison.It’s unfortunate that the finish is so substandard because it’s a sweet little figurine which is why I gave it two stars instead of just one. Because of this, I don’t think it’s worth the price and I just can’t recommend that anyone buy this little figurine.
