Neat idea, but pricey for what it is!
I think the concept behind a discovery set like this is a really clever way to try a candle before you purchase it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve attempted to order candles online, and I end up not liking them. Even if you read all about the fragrance notes, they still may not be what you thought. So, again, I appreciate the variety present in this set. I will say that the set overall leans a bit more masculine with the wood, whisky, and smoke notes present in a few of the candles. I really only ended up liking 2 out of the 6 scents - eucalyptus & orange as well as lavender woods.I will say that I do think that the company needs to reconfigure what they price this discovery set at. At the time that I requested this item, it was $39.99 for a set of 6 candles that are 1.4 ounces each. That’s like receiving a candle that’s 8.4 ounces in totally for $40. You can buy same of their 12 ounces candles for $30, so the price for the discovery set doesn’t quite make sense to me. As a consumer, I consider the price per ounce and the fragrance to be of equal importance. So, I wouldn’t be able to recommend this set if it remained at the $40 price.

Nice SMALL Manly Candles in Gunmetal Tins...
The day that these little candle tins arrived, so did a bunch of other items all in one big box. I looked at my Show 15 and the small stack of items thinking that these candles must be missing. That's because I hadn't paid attention to their 1.4 oz per candle size and wasn't looking for a box only 8 x 5.25 inches big. (Nothing was removed in the way of stars for my ignorance.) They didn't fib any when claiming "Beautifully Packaged: Comes in an elegant box..." since these candles are in a nice, sturdy, and simply printed box with a white interior. The candles are in gunmetal-colored tins that have the scent printed directly on the tin's lid, and then an information sticker on the bottom. A group of us liked all of the scents except "Fireside", and one person even made gagging & vomiting sounds after smelling that particular candle. All the rest were great! Some may appreciate the scent of "Fireside", but a group of almost 20 sure didn't! I removed a star from my review because the product description states (and pictures show) that one of the little candles would be a scent called "Oakwood, Mahogany & Vetiver", but this scent isn't to be found. They seem to have replaced it with "Whiskey Caramel". The other reason why I removed a star is the discrepancy in burn times. The product listing says 10 hours and all of the candles say 15 to 20 hours.
