The shelf is very nice, heavy duty and attractive. The hardware was substantial enough to hold the heavy shelf. I don’t have a great deal of weight on it, but it seems like it could hold a lot depending on the wall, and the installation. My grandson Put it up for me and said it was fairly simple. It is fairly expensive, but everything is these days.

This shelf is of quality maple hardwood. Grandson installed above the headboard of my bed to hold my C-Pap machine (C-Pap hose is not long enough to reach across the queen bed). Brackets that hold the shelf installed easily. Would highly recommend this over any shelf that's not made of hardwood.
Wood is very nice, looks beautiful in my bathroom and was relatively easy to assemble. the kit that came with it may have been wrong or different?, but the screws that are meant to be unseen where black and the ones meant to be seen were silver... (easy fix with black nailpolish) and we used better drywall anchors since this thing is heavy!! had to make sure they would not get loose.

60x7.5x1.5 in puchase as a fireplace mantel.Looks very nice, nice chunk wood, and the brackets are nice and sturdy, as some else has commented, the anchors need an upgrade, so look into that before installing
The paint was scratched on the wall brackets and they were not both bent identically to 90 degrees. The shelf itself is nice, but the mounting brackets are poorly designed for the weight.
