This candle is made of two parts — concrete on the bottom and wax on the top. The concrete texture is very pleasant, though not completely smooth. I had never seen a candle like this before, and I really liked it. I definitely recommend it.
I've been really liking Badalyan Art Studio's candles and this one is no exception. It's different, but good. Reminds me so much of Brutalist architecture. Modern artist lovers might rejoice. I am. It's a very well made candle and a good size. Not huge, but substantial for sure. It has silicone feet under the concrete base to keep surfaces scratch free and is made of soy with a cotton wick for clean burning. Will undoubtedly make a statement in the right setting. It's scented, but I can't place it exactly. I smell something soft and subtle. Unlike their coconut caramel island one in a coconut shell that still radiates notice-me scent months later, this scent is more understated. The candle itself comes wrapped in a plain box. I do think the box could be a bit sturdier but understand this is a small business. Still, there was a slight push against the rim of my candle and while I don't mind some might fuss so better boxes on these could eliminate any potential issues during transport and up the gift value on this excellent product. And it is an excellent product. Love supporting artists too. This one says they're in California.
