Nice Looking Area Rug

I got this rug to replace one that I had in, what I call, the "cat zone". This is an area in my home that my two cats have most of their toys and is located in their "zoomie zone". If you have cats, you'll probably know when the zoomie's hit and they run crazy either alone or chasing each other. Needless to say, the claws can do a number on the floor and/or carpet.I have multiple low pile, washable rugs in my home. They are soft to walk on and easy to care for. This one is no exception. The colors are perfect; they match the color scheme of the rest of the area rugs in my open floor plan.I appreciate the non-slip backing which allows it to stay in place when walked on and when the zoomies hit. (I did end up putting a carpet pad under this one only because I had one under a jute rug in the area before and didn't really have any other place to use it!)Some of the other rugs that I have similar to this one are smaller and fit easily into my washing machine. This one would probably do better in a larger professional machine. I do spot clean it with some non-bleach spray cleaner for when the hairball mess happens. It does pretty well with that. As for vacuuming, I've always used the detachable hose with the small brush head. Too large of a head causes the carpet to suck up off of the floor as it is pretty light weight. One thing that I would recommend for anyone with pets is to invest in a carpet rake. It will lift the fur off of these types of rugs like you wouldn't believe!These rugs usually arrive with a lot of creases from being folded in their packaging instead of rolled. I didn't really have a problem with that with this rug. They were very minor and relaxed easily. That was a bonus!One thing that I have noticed with these particular types of rugs is that the edges start to get messy looking. I don't know if it's only because of my cat's claws or not, but I have noticed a few small spots beginning on this rug. (I put a photo of my old rug's edge to give you an idea of what can occur) These types of rugs won't last forever, but they will do a great job and look good for a long time. From my experience, they don't get that worn out from being walked on appearance (rutted path) like other carpets do.I love these types of rugs. They are relatively inexpensive, feel nice and soft under my bare feet, are easy to clean and look good. I especially like the design on this one. It has that vintage, distressed look. The cats seem like it too as they hang out on it a lot. :)

Luxurious for your feet!

I really love this washable rug. It is low pile, but very soft. Not quite silky and not quiet velvety but somewhere in between. The pattern and color looks very close to what is pictured. I had to go back and make a side by side comparison. i think it's because the images are backed so far off in the picture, that the salmon colors do stand out as much in the image as they do in real life. The variation in color is actually really nice in person, and i like the pattern on the rug even more than when i ordered it. The size is absolutely massive, but fortunately these sort of washable rugs are much lighter, and more easily managed than your typical rugs of this size. I needed this rug to be large enough to fit under my kind size bed and still provide a wide strip around it almost like runners going all the way around the bed, and this size is perfect for that. The color also go really well with my John William Waterhouse reproductions (art) on the walls (they are mostly water scenes so the blue green with the hints of salmon really tie it all together.) I feel like the more traditional print also lends to the theme i have with antique wood furniture. I am Delighted how lovely it looks and how soft it feel under my bare feet before i crawl into bed. I'm also even more thrill that if it get yucky than i can take it to the laundry mat to wash it instead of having to break out the carpet cleaner, that only really cleans it part of the way. I do recommend the laundry mat over a home unit unless you have a larger industrial style washing machine, because this big boy it probably a little too much for my washer to handle and get it all the way clean.
