This is a great clock! I bought it for my mom, who kept napping and then waking up at or near dusk and being confused as to whether or not it was AM or PM. (I can relate as I’ve done this, but I imagine this can happen a bit more during the aging process.)I thought it was easy to set. The screen is customizable from a number of different options, which is nice- what appealed to me, and not to her, (which shows how everyone’s brain works differently) and therefore she got to pick the display that made the most “sense” to her.It doesn’t have back up batteries but it will hold onto the time, etc settings while it’s unplugged, although I don’t know for how long. We’ve only unplugged it and then plugged it back in shortly thereafter.This would probably also be a good learning clock for a child. It has alarm functions as well, but mom doesn’t utilize that feature.

Excellent programmable clock
For the price - this is an excellent purchase. Easy to read and easy to mount on the wall. Several pre-programmed options for reminders during the day like: medication, bfast/linch/dinner, shower, etc. I especially like that the brightness can be programmed to increase or decrease for the time of day (so I don’t have this beacon of light in the living room at midnight for instance).

Best AC powered, backlight, battery backup, digital LCD clock, easily visible, at this price point.
You don't have to have Alzheimer's or Dementia to enjoy this clock. Yes, we are seniors, and wanted a AC powered, backlight, battery backup, digital LCD clock that we could easily see in all lighting. There are few options out there with ALL of these features at this price point. Got sick of replacing batteries on other digital clocks. The battery backup allows you to move the clock (and unplug it) without having to reset the clock. We use the default clock setting at 60% brightness and it is AWESOME all day! We love the day of the week because when you are retired, quite frankly, the day of the week often eludes you. It is a bit cumbersome to set up but when done, the battery backup should eliminate that task in the future. Too soon to comment on time accuracy or durability.

Good Clock for Alzheimer's
Good little clock. Easy to use and read. Been a great help for my MIL, and was exactly what we needed for her. She has Alzheimer's. We got her this to help her know what day it is as she can no longer track that on her own, even with a paper calendar. And she no longer understands am/pm. So the words on this clock are helpful. I love the removers on it! It reminds her to eat a meal, to stretch, to call us 2x a day, and to go to bed.It's the perfect size for her side table. Not too big. The battery back up iron is nice, though it would be nice if battery only was an option. Would also be helpful if the cord was longer... it only takes a specific type of low voltage cord, newer type c cord don't work. So a longer power cord might be nice. Overall, solid device.

Dementia clock, great for everyone!
I bought this clock for myself after I bought the same clock for my mom. My mom has demensia and is in a skilled care environment. She always asks for the date, day and time when I visit. I’ve used dry erase boards so she can see the dates, but she would keep writing over the dates with the dry erase markers, always a mess and the constant need for update. Then I saw this dementia clock on Amazon, it was perfect for her needs!
