Update: I placed this in our guest bathroom over wooden shutters to dress up the window in anticipation of Christmas. It looked wonderful! We received so many compliments from family and friends who visited during us over the holidays this season. Christmastide is over and we've put up our decorations but I'm keeping this valance on the window until spring arrives because it's so lovely. Such a nice treat to walk into the bathroom to see the winter scene with all the animals. btw I did open the shutters and window once during the holiday to cool down the kitchen area after all the baking (it's just off the kitchen). I just used my Swiffer duster handle to lift up the valance to open the shutters just enough to open the window. It was very easy so if you have that concern just use this tip! 🥰This is a lovely valance is for my guest bathroom window. I placed it atop the wood shutters and it looks fantastic! I don't need to worry about the valance getting in the way of opening the shutters because I keep them shut during winter. If I want to let in light on a sunny day I just open the shutter vanes on each side.The material is a smooth woven polyester that has a very slight sheen to it which gently reflects the light in the room. This is a well-made valance with a serene winter scene comprised of snow covered trees, deer, fox, a bird and a rabbit. The background is white and the primary colors are blue, brown and green. The material feels substantial and is not sheer. I think that it's beautiful and would definitely recommend it, if you have the right place.
