Yes, these shades are expensive compared to some other options on Amazon - The caveat is that they work super well, hold their position, are easy to install, and keep out light better than a lot of the alternatives. My wife and I tried multiple options from Amazon, Ikea, Walmart, etc, to block out light from our newborn's room, and this solution was the easiest to use and blocked out the most light. There were others that probably blocked out a similar amount of light, but weren't as easy to use and as sturdy.
