Exceptional In Every Way

Prior to purchasing, I did some reading on sheepskin and found out what a better option in terms of environmentally and healthier choice I was making. In fact, these rugs actually prevent some types of insects! After a bad experience where I used to live with silverfish and ants, that was all I needed to know before hitting the buy button.I found this large one (8’x7’) to be exceptionally soft and thick and have not even brushed it out yet per the instructions. It is absolutely beautiful and feels wonderful to walk over.I will follow up with photos as I am still setting up and decorating the new place but I liked this rug so well that I purchased 3 others in different sizes. Before buying, do read about sheepskin and the types used from what part of the world so you can better understand what you are buying and make choices based on your preferences.

Amazingly Plush and Luxurious!

Incredibly soft and thick, I adore this rug! I had returned two other rugs previously of another brand due to size and color issues and did not have high hopes for this one and was gobsmacked at the difference! The others were bathroom rugs next to this fine piece. At the same price point they shouldn't have even been in the running! There is the very slightest of smell from this rug, but as it is real sheepskin, of course it should. I am generally very sensitive to smells and this was nothing at all to deal with. It is in my bedroom and I would not be able to sleep in there if it had been anything remotely noticeable. I only smelled it if I was sitting on it or very slightly when I walked in with my first week of taking it out of its vacuumed packaging and placing it on my floor. Over a very short time any smell has gone. I have even asked others and they smell nothing. Perhaps other negative reviewers got a one off. This rug is much more than I had hoped for and will be a treasured feature in my bedroom. The size is irregular, which I rather expected given the free-form shape of it. My advice if unsure between sizes is to go a bit bigger as the natural shape tend to fit smaller than regular squared rugs. This rug is an absolute bargain at this price!

That gave it a perm

Really they straightened the hair on this sheep’s skin but the smell brings the word perm to mind first.Let me back track: I bought this to sleep on. I have a very old ugly couch in my living room but it’s comfortable. My boyfriend works nights half the time and I sometimes have to go on late night on call drives for my job. We try to work around each other and the couch is comfortable but is an old floral pattern I associate with my grandmother’s 1960’s basement. I don’t want to get rid of it so I’m hiding it and making it better to sleep on.The nitty gritty:This a fabulous I love it I got the big 7x6 one. It fits on the antiquated couch and is very flexible, the cats think it weird for now but that will change. It’s like a warm cloud of happiness to sleep on it’s soft and super fluffy. As a knitter, spinner; fiber craft version of the crazy cat lady down the road that you dare the other kids to steal a rock out of her yard I know this is supper high quality wool and hide and it’s been masterfully pieced together.The sticky wicket: it smells terrible absolutely terrible. It smells like they are giving a perm to somebody at the cost cutters inside Walmart because that’s what they did to the Beautiful natural hide I know why they did it. I’m not mad but they wanted the staple to look like a stuffed animal instead of wool and it’s most likely what people want. And the silly part is that before Christmas it will look like a sheep because the chemicals will ware off. Mind you the chemicals are not super bad ones but you can’t make a sheep look like this without a little help. I also know the smell will go away someday.One more time with feeling: would I buy it again? Probably I bet they all smell like this and unless you pay 4 times the price to a local tannery you’re going to end up with this problem. Because selling this all natural means 40 comments about how itchy it is to my one comment about the smell and that’s it’s not natural looking. It’s high quality stuff and it’s a good price for it even with the smell

Bad smell, smaller than expected

Smell is HORRIBLE and advertised size must be measured at widest possible section with the majority of the rug not even close to the dimensions. 4x6 is more like a 2’ runner. Had to get it out of my house immediately after opening the package because of the smell.Seems like legit lambskin and soft if you can get past the above.

Quality sheepskin with excellent workmanship at a reasonable price.

This sheepskin arrived in a vacuum bag in a box that disguised its true size. I had a moment of worry that was quickly ended upon opening.I did notice the smell was a bit unpleasant, but was prepared for that from the other reviewers. Even so, there was a note in the package addressing that issue.As far as the quality of the sheepskin, I can say I am pleased.I do notice that it is less soft of wool than other sheepskins I have had, but can be expected to 'break in' over time.The stitching is flawless. I could not find issue whatsoever with the craftsmen who assembled these hides.I will be enjoying laying on this in front of the fire for years.
