Set It & Forget It!
Purchased for my Halloween porch decor. I have metal jack-o-lanterns and some metal luminaries, and I knew I wasn't going to remember to go out and light them every night. I set these to turn on at dusk, and they stayed lit until just before midnight. I didn't have to worry about fire or the batteries going dead because I forgot to turn them off. After Halloween was over I moved them to my living room and had cute and cozy lights pop on after sunset every night. I will need to purchase more in the future!

Bought as a replacement for a big outdoor lantern
I have a pretty good size hanging lantern in our courtyard. The original candle failed and no longer worked. I decided to be a do it yourself fixer and see what it would take to replace it. The original candle was screwed into the base of the lantern, through some eye holes. So I unscrewed the screws, removed the old candle and inserted this candle and marked the bottom. I then had my Hubby take a very small drill bit and drill into the plastic screw on base for the screw holes. I didn't realize this had a screw on base so it made it a bit trickier. We drilled and screwed the base onto the bottom of the lantern, then opened the lantern and screwed the candle onto the bottom threads of the base. It works but took a bit more DIY than I was hoping. Now I'm wishing I would have got a candle that had a remote to turn it on at dusk. Since the switch is hidden under the screw on base I have to completely unscrew the candle from the inside to change the timer as the seasons change. Candle is a dim light, not very bright. Warm golden glow. As described.

I ordered the candles thinking they came with a remote. It was my fault, I must not have read the description well. However if you are using them inside, just leave the bottoms off so they are easier to get to the on and off switch. They are good for the price and they look like the ones that come with the remote, real. I got energizer batteries and they have been lasting a while -- I leave them on for a few hours at a time and they are still going strong.Just remember there is no remote

They are actually exactly what I was looking for - size and flickering - and they work well. But....who designs something that you have to remove the battery compartment cover to get to the on/off switch!! Wouldn't recommend.
