Another fine CINGUE brand candle

CINGUE makes this 7 ounce soy wax lavender candle. I wasn’t able to find out much about the CINGUE brand other than CINGUE candles are made in China because unfortunately CINGUE does not have an Amazon storefront.The intent of the message on the candle “Smells like he hit the jackpot” is intended as a congratulatory bridal gift though a creative person could find other occasions with which to give this gift where this message could also apply.The jar containing the wax is made of thick, lightly frosted glass with a nonmagnetic metal screwtop lid. CINGUE gives the dimensions of 2.8 x 2.8 x 3.7 inches for this jar candle. However, I measure the product as being 2.75 x 2.75 x 3.5 inches. CINGUE states that the candle weighs 0.88 pounds (14.08 ounces). I weighed the candle. It weighed 14.452 ounces including the lid and 14.215 ounces without the lid. CINGUE says the wick is 100% cotton. A visual inspection confirmed that the wick appears to be 100% cotton with a couple of brown threads woven in with the white cotton fibres. The wick has a thin coating of wax on it which keeps the wick rigid and helps with lighting the wick.CINGUE estimates that this candle has an approximate burn time of 50 hours. This is my second CINGUE candle review. The previous candle was identical to this one in every way except for the message printed on the label on the jar. I conducted a burn test on that candle for a little over 6 and a half hours and based on the amount of wax consumed during that burn test, I extrapolated that the burn time to consume all 7 ounces of the candle wax was 46 hours and 17 minutes. Now for safety reasons, the Nation Candle Association recommends you stop burning a candle when there is less and a half an inch of wax left in your jar candle. However, even factoring that in, you still can expect to have well over a 40 hour burn lifespan for this candle which is quite good for a 7 ounce soy candle. I suspect the manufacturer’s 50 hour estimate comes from burning the candle under perfect conditions. Trimming the wick meticulously and burning the candle in a cold, heavily air conditioned room could easily extend the burn time by several hours. So, I would say yes 50 hours is accurate under perfect, ideal conditions, but 40+ hours is what you can expect under normal, typical real-world conditions in someone’s home.

The CINGUE Bridal Candle is kind of tacky - "Smells Like He Hit The Jackpot” (?!), but I ordered it anyway, because I like Lavender candles. It comes in a glass jar (with lid) and the label peeled off easily, leaving a plain, clean jar for display.The candle appears to have an even pour (no air bubbles). The wick burns nicely. The soy wax may, in fact, be all natural; the essential oils used may be pure. The wick is listed as cotton, but no mention of lead-free - or not.But the candle loses on three points:1 - when burning, it smells like a cheap candle (even my husbandcommented - “what IS that smell?” - and he rarely notices candlearomas)2 - it came packed in a nice giftable cardboard box, but the box was filled withstyrofoam packing. There are other options that work just as well,but probably cost a few cents more per candle. I’d happily pay anextra dollar for packing materials that are responsibly sourcedand recyclable. (My recycle center specifies NO styrofoam.)3 - it was made in CHINA. I should have read more carefully; had Inoticed the country of manufacture, I would not have ordered it.Time and again items made in China have been found to containlead and/or other toxins.I vote No on this one.

Smell like essential oil

I enjoy the scent of lavender, so when I first got this candle, the strong eucalyptus aroma caught me off guard. However, as it burned, I found that it achieved a good balance between lavender and eucalyptus leaves, which makes it smell like essential oils. This candle smells amazing! I have already had 3 people comment on the label also, and there's so many different types! This arrived very quickly, and I have to mention the incredibly excellent packaging.. it came completely tucked inside a perfectly fitted styrofoam enclosure, it was so well packaged I don't even know if it could be damaged! Seriously, it's really good packaging! It totally meets my expectations, and even smells better than I imagined. I held this candle up to my husband and he got a kick out of it! BUT he was wise enough not to laugh TOO hard and long! Ha ha ha!This candle has such a fresh, clean scent!You will also find that this candle will burn for HOURS! It may be because it's made of soy.
