This candles fragrance is PO-tent, especially relative to its size. Lol, not in a bad way though. It's really probably the strongest smelling candle I've got that isn't in a lidded jar.Actually, that's one of my main points of contention with this candle. Why on Earth would you go through making such a lovely and rich fragrance and not put that product in a container with a resealable lid to help preserve it? Make it make sense.Get rid of the cutesy cute packaging and put a lid on that jar.All of these jarred candles without lids have the same issue, left for long periods their aroma weakens. And let me tell you when you pay an expensive price for highly fragrances candles (because they do absolutely cost a premium) scent evaporation or deterioration is very upsetting.Of course I haven't reached that point with this candle and I don't know that I will. Having the candle be in a jar with no lid though does make it a concern.Speaking of price, this candle's price is outrageous. I have absolutely paid more than $45 for a candle but those candles were 48, 64, and 96 ounces. They were/are absolutely massive candles with usually really high-quality and very rich and robust fragrance. This candle has the fragrance but comes in at less than a 1\4 the size of the smallest of those candles. Crazy work. This is especially true when you think about burn time. This candle is going to burn for about 45-50 hours, max. The others range from 288 hours to 576 hours of burn time average, for the same price and fragrance potency!!! Crazy work, again I say.Really my impressions of the candle are very positive and I would likely patronize this brand further if it weren't completely cost prohibitive to do so. That's why I gave 5 stars to a product I would never buy.
I am loving the Boy Smells Violet Ends Candle (8.5 oz)! From the first glance, this candle delivers a delicious and unforgettable scent experience with captivating rhubarb, violet, and incense notes! Its bright rhubarb and black pepper top notes give way to a soft heart of violet and black tea, creating a beautiful floral-earthy balance that feels both refined and intriguing. The base of incense and smoky papyrus adds depth and a slightly mystic, grounding quality that fills the room without overwhelming it, making it perfect for cozy evenings or moments when you want your space to feel a bit enchanted. The new vegan soy wax blend ensures a smooth, even burn with a generous scent throw. What really sets this candle apart is how well it blends complexity with comfort: it's floral without being overly sweet, earthy without being heavy, and sophisticated. Whether you're into bold, unique home fragrances or just want something that sparks conversation, this candle brings a rich sensory experience that feels luxurious and special. If you love candles that are a little mysterious and a lot expressive, the Violet Ends Candle is a delightful addition to your collection. My only concern with this candle is the price-point - at $50 a pop, I would say that this candle is a bit expensive.
Really disappointed in the quality of this candle upon unboxing. Damaged wick, oil appears to have separated and leaked onto paper. Wax bits everywhere. The glass vessel is also scratched. While it’s clearly not used, this candle seems to be heavily worn down, part of a bad batch, or just extremely old. Nothing about this unboxing felt like a “luxury” $50 candle
I am absolutely loving the scent of this candle! It's hard to describe, but it's the perfect combination of sweet and warm/exotic. The smoky incense undertones really take it to the next level. I also love the shiny black glass jar. Despite not being a 3-wick candle, it has an appearance that elevates it over the typical big brand candles that are commonly popular. The wax burns cleanly and evenly. It also has a relatively good throw - not as strong as some I've used in the past, but better than most. I haven't used it enough times to know if the 50 hour burn time claim is accurate. The only reason that I've knocked a star off is the price point. I understand that this is meant to be a luxury candle brand and is priced as such, but - as much as I do truly love this candle - I can't imagine spending $50 for it, or for ANY candle, for that matter. Aside from that, this is a candle and scent that I'd highly recommend. If the price were more affordable, I'd absolutely buy it again.
I also ordered the Citrus Rush candle from Boy Smells, and this Violet Ends candle scent is much more subdued - not necessarily a bad thing! I'm not a huge fan of floral scents but this one has a more of an earthy scent (probably the papyrus) to compliment the floral violet smell, so I like it!I usually use a warming plate but wanted to test and see if it burned evenly. I was noting it had not and then my husband pointed out the table it was sitting on was crooked. OK, so, for being on a crooked surface, it burned evenly?...back to the warming plates for me! It says 50+ hour burn time in their description and I believe it as I had it lit for over an hour and it didn't even get that whole top layer melted. The scent covered our open living room/dining room area and that is enough coverage to make me happy. The label is easy to read with the scents listed and the jar has a nice weight to it. Purple is my favorite color, so the presentation looks good to me. It will look and smell good in my bedroom, living room or dining room.
