Perfect balance of notes
This candle smells SO good.I ordered this for my own use because it has some of my favorite notes in it, but was worried it would be a little too masculine smelling. However, it has a bit of a sweet, vanilla note as well which softens it nicely.The packaging it came in was nice looking and VERY protective, so this would make a nice gift as well,I found it easy to light, clean burning, and the scent diffused pretty well. It wasn't THE best diffusion I've seen, but it's pretty good. It's also a nice size -- big enough to look substantial, but small enough that it burns evenly without tunneling.Overall, this is a nice option and a good value. I'm considering buying other candles from this company based on this experience.

Backstory:I had high hopes for this candle. My daughter loves books and reads all the time. She even works in a bookshop while going to school.Nutshell:This candle's packaging (label, presentation, coloration) was flat out PERFECT. You could SMELL the hints of leather bound books and old paper the moment you took off the lid. It screamed of great quality, looked great, was a good size suggesting a long burning candle. VERY HIGH hopes!Then it was lit. The aroma that the original opening of the lid promised was never realized. Just a very subtle hint of it. It was like just the top of the candle had the scent, but not imbued with the wax. It really didn't function as expected or effectively as a "scented candle". More than a little disappointing.CANNOT RECOMMEND for the theme -- but it does work as a candle. Daughter was dissapointed.

Delightful, masculine and leather scent.
I'm in love with this candle. The scent is delightful. A soft masculine, leather kind of scent. I got it as a gift, but I absolutely am keeping it. Will just have to get another. I opted for the old bookstore vs new, which was more my style. It's a great gift for the price - especially for the right person who is as book obsessed as me. The size is pretty standard. Not too small, not too big. I'm super happy with it. My husband asked me to light it immediately!

Smells sooo good
Love this candle! It smells so good, as described and not overpowering. I am sensitive to smells and find many candles to be off putting and headache inducing but I love this. It’s comforting and neutral instead of overly sweet or cologne like. The quality is great, I love the design, I only wish it were bigger for more burn time!Well worth it for the price, haven’t seen anything similar around the stores I typically get my candles. I love the theme, it’s so niche and would make the perfect gift for book lovers. I plan on lighting it for my next book club!

Smells good, burns nicely
This candle arrives in a gift box and is well packaged against breakage. My box was beat up and torn like someone had tried to open it, but the candle itself was fine. The candle stands about 3.5" tall and 2.5" wide and is in a dark glass container with screw top lid. The scent is not familiar, but I really like it. Maybe something like vanilla and leather? It does not really smell like what I think of when I think of an Old Bookshop, but it is pleasing nonetheless. The candle burns evenly even though the wick is a little off center. You can tell that it is handmade, and I like that! The scent is not overpowering, but it is enough. I could definitely give this as a gift, especially with the price being a great value!
