I don't need to shop for any other.

I decided to use "Dinner Candles" to improve the experience at dinner time with my dear wife, enhancing our focus and attention on each other. The idea was not mine (I read about it), but surely has a positive impact. This led to shopping for candles. There are far too many candle options in the world, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I settled on these as my permanent choice.Bolsius makes a good variety of candles. I tried, and very much like their taper candles; very pretty and dress a table nicely. After a while, I wanted to try their straight (not tapered) candles, so I got the 12hour candles. The straight candles are my favorite, though all, from Bolsius, seem to burn without dripping or stinking-up the place, as you can see in the attached photo. I don't want perfumed candles. I don't want to smell candles burning. I just want the feeling, focus and mood of candle-lit dinners.To get the results I get consistently, you need to...Mount the candles straight up vertically.Trim the wick to about 1/2" and keep it there, throughout the burn!Avoid drafts that stir the flame.Bolsius uses 2 different kinds of wax in their candles. The main fuel is the core of the candle. It burns as it should and slightly faster that the outside layer, which is a bit 'harder' and burns more slowly than the core (see photo). This layered method allows the molten wax to burn in a small pool, inside the harder outside rim and not drip. I mean NO DRIPPING in 12 hours of burn time... Very high quality.

These take about 12 hours to burn down, with little to no dropping down the sides. We go through a box in about six weeks. Every so often, we get a “dud.” Meaning, a candle that burns down in about four hours with a a lot of dripping down the sides. This happens about once in every three boxes.In other words, I’ve found these candles to be of exceptional quality.

The best candles I have ever purchased

These candles were lite for 9 hours in a draft free room. Not one drip. I had 2 other candles from a different company that burned down and dripped all over my brass candle stick holders in 4 hours. I’ve read reviews that they drip and any candle will when in a drafty area. I have used these candles for over a year now and not one drip ever. The ivory is very nice. These are definitely worth the price and I always have confidence that they will burn evenly, and drip free. I will never purchase another brand of candles.

"Dripless" is true--wonderful candles

These candles have a very clever approach to "dripless"--the outer layer of wax melts at a higher temperature than the inside, so as they burn, they form a shallow rim that prevents drips. Sure, if you try burning them in a draft or a breeze, they might drip. What candle wouldn't? But we've used a dozen of them on our dinner table, without a problem. They are long-lasting, and burn clean and odor-free. And such a bargain at half the price of the "classics" we used to buy.

Very good quality. A light where all else seems dark!

These candles are the candles you want. I keep getting them because they outlast all other brands I have used in recent decades, as the quality of everything seems to have degraded beyond their worth. Fortunately you can trust me on this, and I ‘discovered’ the brand after reading a review of today’s best candle brands in a good, reputable magazine in interiors and these candles were mentioned.They don’t smell badly, just a faint whisp of burnt wax expected when extinguished. They’re fairly sturdy, and don’t really drip much, if at all.
