Heavy Duty Curtain Rods

As I continue the makeover of window treatments in my home I find myself in search of curtain rods that are more than up to the task of handling heavy window drapes and curtains of the black out and thermal kind. While the curtain rods I'm using now have done an okay job over the years, the weight from these drapes and curtains have significantly had an impact on what are honestly very cheap curtain rods as they have started to bend or lose shape from the weight of having to hold these curtains up. This is what has led me to try these rods from QDWIS.First thing out the box these rods have a good heft and good weight to them. Unlike the flimsy white curtain rods this set is replacing, they are not easily bendable by hand. This let me know immediately that they are really up to the task of handling the weight of heavy duty curtains and drapes. The rod is made of iron with a weathered wood finish. It strikes a balance between being modern with a dab of rustic tendencies. The wood looking finish may not be to everyone's taste but I think it's okay. It's not going to fool anyone into believing it's a real wood curtain rod but it looks far from tacky or gaudy. It's an unique look if you're on the search for curtain rods that offers more than a single solid color.I ordered these in the 44" - 88" size length as I have double windows that measures 72" across in most rooms in my home. This rod is true to length and measures out at the 88" as advertised in the product description so they fit the parameters I needed them to fit for my window coverings. At about an inch in diameter it's a pretty robust rod as well that has shown thus far it's easily capable of handling the weight of my heavy duty curtains.Installing the rod wasn't too hard to do. In fact it gets much easier if you already have holes drilled from a previous curtain rod installation and you're able to reuse those same holes. I was able to do that with my installation. The finished product, once assembled, looks really good in my opinion even if a majority of it will be covered by the curtains it's holding up. I think what I like about these the most is how much easier it is to open and close the curtains when I want to let in some sunlight or darken a room. The wall brackets also makes it more accessible for me to remove the rod for the purpose of updating curtains as the seasons change throughout the year. Something I rarely did before as with the old rods it was such a pain to take down, slide out the curtains, put new ones on the rod, slide the rods back in and try to put the whole assembly back in the little tabbed brackets. All the while trying to do it by myself with heavyweight curtains hanging from the rod. I am grateful for the much simpler process.Thus far I have been a very satisfied customer with these. It's a very good quality rod for the price. If in need of a strong curtain rod that's decently priced with attractive looks (in my opinion) this would be a good place to start. It scores a 4.9 out of 5.0 for a 5 star rating.

Rustic Yet Sophisticated Curtain Rod

This curtain rod is very well constructed and feels heavy duty. It has a beautiful weathered wood look that adds a rustic charm while still blending nicely with more modern decor. It worked perfectly with the wood trim in our den and complemented the space really well.It was fairly easy to mount, although, I did need additional help due to the size, but once installed, it felt very secure and sturdy.
