No more hot rooms! I bought this for my daughter's room, to block the sun during summer, since she gets the whole afternoon. It worked great, super easy to put up and take down when no longer needed. It kept the room super dark in the morning and cool! Will added to her room this summer again.
If properly cut to fit and if velcro is installed so material is nice and taut, it will block nearly 100% of light - a true black-out product. I can now go into my bedroom on the brightest day in the summer, and its a dark cave with this product on my windows. You can remove the material because it uses velcro tabs, so you can open the window if you need to. But I wouldn't recommend it if you want to take it down every day and put it back up. I imagine the glue might eventually wear out. I've had mine up for a few months with no problems. Only removed it twice to open the window to let some fresh air in.I live in New England where its light out before 5am in the summer. I've tried expensive black-out curtains, but they still let a little light in around the edges, and it would wake me up. I needed something that would totally black-out my two bedroom windows. This did it for me. Sleep is so much better with this material on my windows.Some people have complained that the material looks/feel cheap, but at $15, what do you expect? I didn't expect it to be aesthetically beautiful. It's not. And that ok because it does what I need it to do. It blocks the light really well, and that was my main reason for purchase. I imagine most people, like me, have curtains or blinds that you can close over it. Problem solved.It's only been a few months, so I'll have to see how the glue/velcro holds up over time. But at $15 each, I can afford to replace them every year if I have to. It's worth it, for better sleep.
Just as described - easy to cut to size and the Velcro stickies work perfectly! Installed 4 days ago & still holding strong - I would definitely recommend these for light blocking any room. The only thing I would prefer is maybe clear Velcro stickies for sticking to window frames.
This item works great. It blocks out the outdoor lights by our condo enough so it doesn’t bother me anymore. The only flaw is that the Velcro stickers only come in black. The black on my white window frame is too noticeable. I will have to buy separate white Velcro's.
Velcro is strong and does a true job of blacking out the window. Use it in my kids room and fully eliminates any light. It's easy to remove and put back on so if you want to take it off and let light in for awhile it's great. Way cheaper and easier then expensive blinds.
A little smaller then I needed or it was measured out to be . It blocked the light well though , adhesive strength held up ok with the heat retention , the material quality was meh , easy to install , looked cheap
Works like a dream! And believe me I am getting more dreams with this blackout curtain fabric! I love how instantly my room went to a darker and cooler feeling. It’s blocking the uv rays that would heat up my room like crazy this summer! And it took me minutes too! It’s so easy to install! And the double sided sticky Velcro really holds it perfectly!! The material had an industry smell to it, but I left it outside overnight and the air completely took that away! And I’m so glad! I know smells can give some people headaches, but once I had aired it out and then installed it, there wasn’t any smell at all!! So I think it’s a win-win getting a great product for so cheap and believe me, my dreams are so much better for it! Finally I can really sleep deeply even with all the Summer light that used to come in too early and staying too late.
