Good Curtain Rod for a Laundry Room Window

Nice curtain rod for a smaller window that was okay for a newbie to drill in and install. It was a bit difficult to figure out which pieces screwed together or slid together, and there's a funny piece to screw into (see photo). But I got it in the end and it looks great! Heavy duty curtain rod that handles blackout curtains or anything else, smoothly adjustable

Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. I received a curtain rod consisting of 4 pieces of rod, two finials to mount to the wall or ceiling, an optional center support bracket of adjustable extension, and a set of screws and anchors. The adjustability is created by the end pieces which slide into the center piece or pieces. All 4 pieces are used with a threaded insert between the two middle pieces or the plastic friction end are inserted in both ends of one center piece and the threaded insert and 4th piece are set aside, adjusting the range in length. It is significantly heavier than traditional light rods, hence its suitability for heavier blackout curtains as well as traditional lighter weight curtains. The outer pieces slide into the center piecesThe rod is a maximum 1"/25mm diameter tube in the center section. That takes a minimum 1.75" (folded, making 3.2" circle) slit for the curtain, or more so that the curtain can hang without bunching. Typical blackout curtains with grommets or fabric loops work just fine.The pictures in the description are particularly thorough--and accurate--for this product, so you should be able to check there for any dimensions that are of concern to you before ordering. Assembly is straightforward. Note that the wall brackets are aligned either vertical or horizontal with two of the four holes at the top and bottom, then the rod is secured with machine threaded set screws that penetrate the holes that line up vertically on the top and bottom. The wall brackets are labeled "finial bases," but they aren't really finials (ornamentation on the end of a curtain rod) since the rod curves smoothly into the wall bracket.There is one fixed dimension missing in the description--the standout from the wall/attachment surface where the end brackets are attached to the outside of the rod is 4"/104mm. The distance from the wall to the inside of the center tube is 1" less: 3"/75mm.

Easy to assemble--can hold pretty much any curtains!

I chose the 28-48 inch option as every window in my home is 36 inches wide or less. I could therefore try this out in any room. It's appropriate for all curtain types even pinch pleat with appropriate rings. The sections fit together perfectly with a strong, reliable result. It comes with everything needed to mount securely including wall anchors and goes up in minutes.It hits that sweet spot of rod-to-wall space: it doesn't jut out and hold your curtain too far from the window or result in pressing your curtain against your wall or window frame. The matte finish is smooth to the touch and won't snag any material. The stainless steel construction will resist any formation of rust from humidity, which I have experienced with other lower quality metals used in other lower priced curtain rods.Overall, I love this curtain rod. I do wish, though, that this was available is nickel/brushed nickel finish.

It Works but It's Not Great

This curtain rod is lightweight and it does function. It holds up the curtains so they touch the wall for a blackout effect, but it’s not as solid as what you’d get from a regular store. It’s a bit inconvenient to add or remove curtains since you have to unscrew either an end or the middle to take them off. The center doesn’t feel very sturdy without the support piece, and with the support there’s always a gap between the curtains. It works, but it’s not the best.
