I don't get the hype

Japanese incense is supposedly known for it's quality, so I opted for it. From my perspective , you need to be within a few feet of it to capture the scent. The sticks seem thinner than others, and are brittle On the other hand, they're nicely packaged and I wasn't using them for meditation or other ritual, so perhaps someone more 'in tune' with themselves would enjoy them more. And maybe if I lit several at once, the experience would be better.

Very subtle doesn’t linger at all

This is Japanese incense which is entirely incense, no stick inside. It burns much cleaner and pure without the burning bamboo stick. The sticks are smaller than Chinese or India type sticks but burn completely. The scent is very nice and woodsy but VERY subtle and light, too light for a large area, this is best enjoyed in a smaller space. It doesn’t linger at all, I like to have the scent remain in the room once it’s burned but this goes away completely. Maybe I’ll save this for my baths, it wasn’t enough fragrance to fill my living room. The fragrance is very pleasing, I do like it very much.
