Beautiful vibrant washable rug

Wow! Just wow! I have changed out all of my rugs to washable rugs with 1/2”-3/4” padding underneath. So, I’m quite familiar with these thinner rugs. Especially when it comes to vacuuming, washing, and drying. This rug is a little less flimsy. Other washable rugs lift easily when vacuuming, if you don’t stand on the corner and change your vacuum settings to less suction. This one has a rubber backing that helps keep the edges from getting sucked up, wrinkling the rug, and clogging the vacuum. I’m not saying it doesn’t or won’t happen, it’s just not quite as frustrating as other washable rugs. You should still have the least amount of suction on your vacuum and standing on the corner or edges is always good practice to keep the frustrations to a minimum.For me, vacuuming these rugs are the daily maintenance (since I have 3 dogs and 5 rescue indoor/outdoor cats). I have not had this rug long enough that I need to wash it. My other rugs get washed once a month for bedroom rugs, once every three weeks for the living room rug, and weekly for the kitchen, hallway, and bathroom rugs. Maybe that’s excessive and not the norm for other homes. But again, I have high traffic in my home, with the pets, 3 young adult sons, and their girlfriends.It has been my experience, that every single washable rug, no matter how big or small, shrinks the first handful of times they are washed and dried. I have tried drying them in the dryer on all different settings and even tried drying them outside, laying completely flat on the hot concrete to sun dry. It’s always the same outcome. These rugs shrink down between 1-3” all around overall. It’s just a fact. This one though, doesn’t seem like it will be able to shrink as much. The rubber backing will either cause there to be wrinkles from the material separating from the backing (like two past hallway runners I have had) or the backing will prevent most of the shrinkage. I’ll update this review if I see separation.My other concern with washing this rug is fading. Right now, this rug is amazingly bright and colorful. I’m in the process of changing my boho farmhouse decor to vintage modern. This rug is a statement piece for this switch. Fingers crossed it keeps its vibrant colors and that the black won’t bleed into the lighter colors. Along the edges, you can see where the white under color shows through. Not a big deal but worth showing.

Very vibrant and easy to clean.

To start off with the pros this rug is very vibrant in its pattern and coloring. I was a little concerned because it was packaged so small I was worried it would be too thin and not have enough weight to it. But it actually unfolded and laid nice and flat. The slip resistant back actually works amazing. In fact trying to slide it under my modular couch with out taking it apart was impossible because it was so grippy. I have vacuumed it a few times and it vacuumes very nicely I did not have any issues with it lifting or getting caught and the length of material and texture makes an easy clean up. The only issue I have is I have noticed the corner where my cats like do dive at it has lifted and started to roll up some. So I do think the edge could be a little heavier so it doesn’t become a tripping hazard but that is really my only con. I have included a picture of it after a few vacuums and having been used as well so you can see their is no wear down in how the texture is holding up so far.
