Very pretty and nonslip

The rug was impressive right out of the bag. There was only a faint smell -- not highly chemical -- when it came out of the bag, unlike a lot of fabric products one gets. There is a backing on the reverse side of the rug, and that was what I expected a strong smell from, but there was no petroleum-like smell at all. The front side of the rug is soft, more like velvet than a typical carpeting pile. It does look a bit "printed," but the printing is clear, there are no runs, and there is a faded look to it that is quite pleasant if a "boho" or "cottage chic" look is desirable (I like it).It was folded in the packaging, but I laid it on the floor and it flattened out almost immediately. However, this was a quite small, entry rug. A larger rug may be different, and there are directions that come with the rug that say one should roll it up for an hour or two (to relax the fibers), and that the rug can even be ironed on the back if one uses several layers of paper (probably paper towels) between the iron and the rug. I did not have to do this, but it is good to know that ironing is feasible.I tried to scoot it around with one foot on the floor and the other on the rug to see if it was a trip hazard, and it would not move at all (unlike the carpet it was replacing, which I scooted out of the way with one foot while getting ready to put this one down). I have the rug down over tile, which is a bit slick, and the rug gripped the tile well. As an entry rug, it looks like it will function perfectly.

Soft, easy to clean and great addition to my room's decor

This rug seems to be of good quality. It is very soft to walk on and low profile, which I like for my hardwood floors. I don't want anything overly plush that I can trip on but smooth and protective for my hardwood as well as a pretty addition to my decor.It comes folded so there are a few lines which will eventually come out once this is rolled out flat for awhile. I like that it is washable, although a rug this size might be too much for my washer but I can use my small steam cleaner on it if necessary and it will dry quickly. It has a backing that will keep it from sliding around on a tile or wood floor.The colors are faded green and blue pastels which match my room's wall color perfectly.This is exactly what I was looking for and I am happy with it.
