These curtains have an interesting texture, but look great. They block out the sun and keep the room cool.10/10/2021 Edit: I just received another four sets of the grey panels after ordering my first set a few years ago. The quality is still just as great. Be prepared to remove wrinkles from the panels (I steamed them.). The grey is a darker color which will contrast nicely with the very light grey I’ll be putting them with.There was a time when finding a full window dressing for under $50 that looked attractive was impossible. The curtains on this window cost me just under that amount.Great buy and, yes, they block light and keep the room cool from the sun.

Perfect!

I was unsure at first if these curtains would be able to block all light since they don't have the liner on the back. But, Wow! Until I open these drapes, it's like it's midnight at any hour of the day. Not only do they block daylight from coming in, they block my home lights from showing outside! I've had these for about a week and I've had two friends that visited text to make sure I'm home at 9pm because it "looks like you're lights are off and your in bed." The fact that there's no ugly liner on the back also means these curtains look just as beautiful from outside my home as they do on the inside. High-end Look at a Bargain Price!

What a bargain! These curtains are unbelievably light-weight yet they do block the light [and heat!] amazingly well. The fabric is very nice quality and has the slightest sheen to them which gives the appearance of a very high-end product. The panels hang beautifully as well!I ordered 2 sets [4 panels]; 1 of the panels is about an inch or so shorter in length than the others [hence the 4-start review instead of 5], but since I'm using these curtains in my south-facing office, it isn't that big an issue [I just had the shorter panel installed on the far end].FYI...instead of paying a pretty penny for a decorative curtain rod, we used a simple, inexpensive galvanized pipe from Home Depot and a couple of inexpensive metal pole brackets. I gives a clean, industrial look to the finished product!

Blessed Darkness!

Blessed Darkness! My bedroom in my new house has a massive six-foot east-facing window, and the sunlight blasted through it like the fist of an angry God every morning. It was waking me up far earlier than I needed (or wanted) to be awake, so I decided something had to be done. The windows had blinds already installed, but they did little to mitigate the Sun's early morning wrath. Spray painting the window black seemed a little excessive, so I decided to get some dark chocolate black-out curtains (they matched my handsome tan/chocolate bed). These were reasonably priced, and I was impressed with how they looked - nice big grommets, and attractive fabric. I used a strip of loop-back tape to attach the two panels in the middle, to prevent the CHA vents from blowing the curtains apart overnight. I awoke with a giddy titter, as I slept all the way until 10:30am! (one of those rare days when I had nothing to do, and nowhere I had to be), without being awoken by the sun's merciless gaze even once. Victory!
