Great product that has performed well and easy to use for over 1 year as of this review. Bought for elderly mom with dementia as a reminder for day and time. Large number display that is easy to read with black background. Simple to hang on a wall, or place on tabletop. Easy to adjust functions and understand instructions. Had friends that have bought and liked these as well.
This is wonderful for my grandma. She is 95, and forgets the day, this gives her back some of her independence. It’s very bright and easy to read.
Great clock! It was smaller than I thought it would be but can see month, day, and time very clearl in daytime or nightime! Super easy to set the time. Day and month were already correct. Very happy with this product!
I purchased this clock for my grandmother who was 102 and it served it's purpose well. Because I needed to position it a little distance from her, I probably should have bought the larger size because the more intricate information at the bottom was harder to read. I would also recommend buying this for your older adult before they start to slip cognitively so that they are a little more familiar with it when they do start to struggle. Since grandma has passed away, I use it in my office for my clients and I appreciate that it is a smart product and I do not have to do anything and it just keeps things straight.
Purchased this Day/Date Clock for a Senior parent who started to lose track of the day & date... thanks to the Covid Lockdown. Very helpful item that looks GREAT. But, anyone would be happy to have this at home, dorm room, office, etc!I selected the black frame, & opted to set up the display w/ the background dark- w/ white letters & numbers for a very easy to see display. Not using the alarm feature, as prefer not to have my Mom moving the frame around to set alarms or to silence them. IMO, best to use just as a Clock & Day-Date Calendar as all controls are on the back & a bit small to adjust for most Senior users.No problems with the unit, has been working fine for 8 months now.Warning: There is no mention of the word DEMENTIA on the outside of the box, however the instruction sheet I received (enclosed inside the box) calls it a Dementia clock. Glad I opened the box before giving it as a gift to my Mom.While it's useful to have Memory/Dementia/Alzheimers in the Amazon "search" for a useful clock, I don't think it needs to be on the product's instruction sheet or packaging. Again, was not on the box, just the instruction sheet.Anyone purchasing it for a person suffering dementia or memory loss should realize that that recipient would likely find the instructions tricky due to their impairment, so be sure to set it up ahead of time or when you give it to them- so they could choose the background display they like best of the choices it offers.Many times though... choices give them anxiety- so perhaps best to experiment w/ the 3 options yourself first- & pick which one you believe they will be able to see the easiest.Very happy with the purchase, & my Mom tells me it is one of her favorite gifts EVER received!
I really like this clock, BUT … just be aware that the light is pretty bright at nighttime, so you will probably not want to put it in a bedroom (unless you are used to sleeping with the TV on or with a bright nightlight).Although it does “auto-dim” at 8 pm (or you can set the brightness to “low”), it still puts out quite a bit of light, especially for 2 of the 3 display options.The photo on the product page showing the “night” setting makes it appear much dimmer than it actually is. Instead, it’s similar to having a bright smartphone on in a dark room.You can turn it off each night, and it maintains the correct date and time. But you can’t reach the off switch if it is hanging on a wall. Having it on a table or dresser, I found that I could put 3 or 4 pieces of white paper in front of it at night, which significantly reduces the glow while still being able to be read if you are within 5 feet of it.I hope the manufacturer updates the product to allow dimmer settings.Despite that, I do really like this clock. It’s perfect for an elderly parent who is always wondering what day of the week (and date) it is.I like each of the 3 display options, and the ability to choose among 4 colors for the letters/numbers.The picture quality is also very good if you want to use it as a picture frame. Just put some jpg photos on a flashdrive and plug it into the clock. Every 6 seconds it will change to the next photo. The screen is only 3-1/2 x 6 inches, so it may be hard to see if it is hanging up on a wall, but it looks really nice on a table or desk.I bought this for a parent, but will probably buy another one for myself.
